Ever wonder what happens to the people who disappear from the boards???

I'm guessing that I'm the only person who ever thinks about this but I wonder what happens when common posters just disappear from the boards. I'm not talking about the whiney "I'm leaving" threads. But say (g-d forbid) I leave my house tomorrow, get hit by a bus and die. People on here would probably just think that I left the boards for one reason or another. You may even see a story on the news about the guy who got killed by the bus. But you'd never know what actually happened.
Am I the only person who thinks about this? I hope that, if I died, my wife would come on and let you all know I'm gone. Just a random thought...

Now I am worried about those who haven't signed in for awhile. I was thinking...nobody in my family knows I even get on this forum. Would anyone even miss me here???

HAHA...I have thought about that too Crimzy..There were a lot of "other" people on here when I first joined.....If I disappear..I'm probably in a coma...LOL

I used to wonder, but since I've have mod powers, I discovered that most just assume another username. LOL
Usually people don't suddenly disappear, but gradually disappear. For those who do suddenly stop posting, it usually is for various reasons we find out about. PC went dead, storm blew out electricity, natural disaster, medical emergency, family crisis, etc. Usually the regulars who post every day will post back letting us know what the heck happened.

I think about that too Crimzy. I think about these things while I am driving. What if I were in a terrible crash or something and became hospitalized? I always picture telling my son to come on and tell someone what happened. In one day dream I couldn't talk and scribbled on a paper "SWF...tell them."

If I am not on, you all know something real bad must have happened. I have had the power out and stopped at my mother's house just to check in here

Yea, if I were a mod, definitely would love to spend a good bit of the time checking out the IP's. Bet some would be reaaaaally interesting too know....

OK, now that's kinda sad...
But I'm guilty too... I already have a "will" in place that if I die, my son is to inform the boards, lol...
Hubby won't do it. He thinks I take the whole SWF thing way to far, lol...

Most of my family know what I do in my spare time. My son probably wouldn't have to be asked. ....Wait, are we talking about me being a fish geek again??

ok i have to know... we dont need names, but are there any users lurking about with secret long lost SWF identities that theyre not talking about? like well known users that made a new username and now stay on the down low?
