Fast Food Fries?

The debate regards Rally's and Chick-fil-A french fries only.
Chick-fil-A is a far superior restaurant, there is no debate there. The debate lies with the fries.

are these restaurants at the same level or is this an apple to orange comparison? i've eaten from both joints, but only been to chick-fil-a. steak and shake has good fries...thin and crispy... none of that waffle fry junk that has too much surface area.

FWIW, most other places, Rally's is known as Checker's...
The fries are very close. Checkers fries always seem a touch over done. Just a bit too crunchy, too thick of outer-wall. Checkers fries obviously come charging back with their seasoning(s). To me, the tipping point is the availiablity of "Loaded Fries" with Checkers. Available three different ways, but obviously the best is the "Fully Loaded," hot cheese sauce, ranch dressing, and bacon pieces.
As far as Chick-Fil-A being a superior restaurant
... If you mean they have a better chicken sandwich, sure
. But just the variety alone tips things in Checker's favor... They even have chicken wings now, which are half way decent. Another game ender for Checker's they're always bringing new stuff to the table. Chicken wings, philly cheesesteak burgers, double stacked fish sandwichs, their 2 for $4/2 for $5.... The final nail in the coffin are their hours. Chick-Fil-A closed Sundays?
. Every Checker's I've been to is open 24hr on the weekends, till 3am or so weekdays.

Never been to a chick-fil-a (what kind of silly name is that anyway?) or a Rally's. Have been the Checkers though and I do love their fries.
