No dude, I can't come get them from you. I'm afraid of Oscars, plus they're always so GROUCHY. They need to seriously change their attitudes. Plus my Redtail shark would probably eat them if the were GROUCHY to him. I love my Redtail shark. He's my favorite kind of shark. He cost $3.49

Yeah, I know they're freshwater...I used to keep them...Reds, Tigers and Albinos. Doesnt seem very honest to me to try to pawn some fish off, to anyone, by giving false information about them.
Just because you have them in a 29 gal. tank doesnt mean it's right.

red tail sharks have tiny mouths. i have had mine for 2 years and i'm more scared of the oscar eating the red tail shark. the oscars bit me while i was dropping some fish food in the tank. :scared:

JR you seem like a nice kid with great aspiration's but listen when I am telling you. You will get much further in life if you listen and pay attention to your elders. I don't know if you really can afford a 10,000 gallon tank. ( I have been to your hometown and there are for sure people who can. I use to live in Palatine) However unless you have workers maintaining it you could not possibly do this yourself. Now if you just some dude that like to get on the message boards and mess with people (by bugging them to death) then you are doing a great Job. Nice profile and all. lol. I know it's not as exciting to talk about a 55 gal reef or a 200 gallon shark tank as it is a 10,000 gallon shark tank but at least it is truthful. Novice is a well accomplished adult and he does have a nice tank but as you aspire to be like him (but one notch better) Please at least post a pic of the place you intend to but your shark tank in?????

it's cool didn't say you where lying just find it hard to believe and asked how you intend on taking care of it. Lot's of work. a 300 or so with a cat shark or bamboo would be really cool to and I actually think you would be able to care for that. I know the area you may be one of those rich kids with maids and butlers. So you would not have to really maintain it. I just was giving a little advice in the case you are not and are making a lot of this up. I would be thrilled to see the location you are thinking about using for the big tank however big it may be. Post some pics make a beliver out of all of us. Simple enough I am sure you have a digi cam.
I to one day would love to have a huge shark tank but cannot afford it.
And by the way whitey is messin with you

It's funny to read some of these young guys post in here. At first I get annoyed and then I picture being 13 again and I know everyone can remember those guys that loved to be the center of attention and would do anything to get it. Including telling big fish stories so to speak. Not to say you are JR. I just remeber being you age and you seem like that type of kid. You can prove it though. PICS Whitey I like the red tail shark to Sorry to burst your bubble but I actually think it is a carp

JR if you not rich then please reconsider. My 75 gal reef has 1 gallon a day evaporation I do 10% water change weekly that 15 gallons a week on a 75 gallon. I have to make the ro/di water or buy it. fresh is 50cents a gallon and sw is 80 at the lfs. Do the match even a 300 gallon is going to cost a bundle to maintain. Not to mention sand, pumps, back up pumps, salt, carbon , uv sterlizer, lights. Dude it gets crazy expensive and even the electricity can overwhelm you. I just set up a 175 for fowlr I have 2 tangs in it and have about 4000 dollars invested. This hobby is crazy expensive and it takes a tone of time and dedication. Again I think you are a good kid you have just been mislead somewhere down the road. Keep your dreams start a little smaller and get some more experience and you will be thankful in the end.
Think about this. What are you going to do when the black tip dies from starvation or from temp spike or just from stress alone. I am almost 30 years old and I would cry for the fish and for the money. Go to the Shed look at the big sharks and keep you passion it will pay off one day. Start smaller

thanks for the explanation. now i have decided to get a 4000 and put bamboos in em. it will be a 20x10x3ft. (lxwxh.) i know i can handle bamboos but not so sure about black tips. if that's still too much i will go lower. now i can even pet these sharks!!!!!!! thanks for the advice (even though i kind of knew.) i still love black tips. you can't change that. i think you spent too much on your 175. i can get my tank built for less and still get the filters except the skimmer.
