Trouble is that CT will be ABLE TO BACK IT UP SOON. I have seen a 3 inch CT kill tangs heck about anything when they get mad and if it is going after a Sohal now LOOK OUT.
The Sohal's the instigator, it's just that the CT doesn't run like the other fish. One time the sohal wanted to go through a cave and the CT just turned his side and blocked the cave, wouldn't move out of the way for nothing.
Sohal tried to get him to move for a few minutes but finally gave up.
rcreations hey, do you think if added a clown trigger it would cause problems, i had a pink tail 6 months 3-4inches, then added a 6-7 inch female bluethroat trigger, every once in a while pink tail gets mean towards her, if added a ct would this make this worse or help the aggression- mike
I had a sargassum trigger and a niger trigger when I added the CT. I had no problems with them, in fact there's no agression at all between the triggers. But the CT was really small when I added him, I mean REALLY small, like the size of a quarter. He was so small that none of my fish even bothered with him.
Thanks. Yeah, it's been great watching the queen angel and this clown trigger grow and change colors from juvi and I gotta say... the CT has been a great fish so far. I don't think I've ever seen him initiate any agression, at all. Only bad thing is he wiped out all my mexican turbo snails. Seems to have a taste for them.
Thanks, i ordered it on swf.com its says 2 to 3 inches, my last order that i got from them the fish were all bigger than what they posted. which didnt bother me, i always wanted a ct so this will be my first one hope everything goes well.
From what I read the #1 killer of small CTs is overeating. They'll eat themselves to death. So keep an eye on that and don't feed the little guy too much.
yeah you want too feed him 3 to 4 times a day but small amounts. I had a 3/4 of an inch Humu humu and now he is about 3 inches in about 7 months. I feed him that way
Yeah, he's like the 3rd biggest fish in the tank now, still growing pretty fast. But no agression. I saw him a couple of times chase off my yellow wrasse but that's not unusual since that wrasse bugs all the fish. Just a quick chase though, nothing bad.
Ever since I put the clown trigger in the tank, I started to see my cleaner shrimp disapper. Not at first but as he got bigger, one day one was missing, then weeks later another one. I'm down to just 1 cleaner shrimp now. Oh well, I knew this would happen sooner or later.
