Actually, I wouldn't order live anytime after Thanksgiving. Its the worst time to order live animals. Not only the added stress the shipping agents have, but also, if your shipment goes through cold areas, then any delays in delivery can be catastrophic. Also, if you live in an area that is experiencing blizzards, or snow storms, its not the right time to order livestock. This sounds obviously, but we have seen many make this mistake much to the dismal results of marine animals.
Alternatively, you can try to arrange for the package to be held at the FedX station so you can pick it up as soon as it scans in. Don't wait for the delivery. I believe this needs to be arranged beforehand by the shipper.
