FedEx Has RUINED My Holiday!

Heres the story. I ordered a tiger jawfish this weekend along with an ORA frag and a foxface for a friend. I ordered them last friday, they would ship out monday, and arrive today. Well today came, they were supposed to be here by 3. 3 came and no fish. 4...5....6.... called fedex. they said they were running behind schedule and were still on the road. So I thought Oh ok at least they will still get here today. 7 o clock still nothing. 7:30. come inside and check the tracking info. DELAY BEYOND OUR CONTROL!!!
they never even left the fedex building! So now they have to survive another night in 20 degree weather (they better be inside and not waiting on a truck outside). Im sure the ORA acro is already dead and the fish will need a miracle. I love jawfish too and I was so exciting to finally get one.
now i just have to sit back and wait and see what comes in the mail tomorrow. live fish or blocks of ice...

Sorry to hear you're having problems with your shipment.
Unfortunately most online stores warn about this time of year for any deliveries that would need to go through the FexEx hub in Memphis. If your shipment is not insured, I'm not sure they will have to pay for the damages. They will just say it's force majour :(

i was thinking that too so i read the site's policies and they said nothing about not being responsible for shipping errors. got it from another site

Bummer....That's why the online dealer that I use closes for a few weeks during the holidays, they just found too many issues with getting livestock overnighted.

They are good to deal with. They most likely will submit a claim with the shipper and replace your order. I've never had to argue with them on anything.

just got an email from them and if the fish are dead they will refund the money. I still lost a lot of respect for fedex today though haha

depending on how much you spend fedex does insure everything up to 100 bucks included in the shipping costs. Plus with the overnight delay. You can typically talk them into refunding shipping.

It is a few days before Christmas. Have some empathy. They can only ship so much stuff at a time.

Fed ex will not pay for loss of live stock. The store has to eat it and as far as I know all of them will. This was beyond your control.
As far as it not being Fedwrex fault why are the accepting more deliveries if they are too busy ro keep up with what they already have?

i know its right before christmas and all but its not like it was standard ground shipping. overnight should be delivered overnight. but the store said they will refund the order if the fish are dead (which they probably are. its 26 degrees out) so its all good.

That really stinks, but I agree with Sep. I hardly think it is fed ex's fault. It is the holidays. If you have 10 trucks, but enough packages to fill 30 there is not a whole lot you can do with that scenario. Shipping from A to B is not the only step in the process of shipping packages. Sorting, warehouses, one spot to the next. It's more complicated I think than it initially appears. I think you have every right to be upset with the situation, but don't think you should be mad at fed ex. JMO. Happy Holidays

delay wasnt weather related. Package came this morning. fedex guy simply said he couldnt get to our side of town. it only takes 10 minutes to get from one side to the other. jawfish and foxface are holding on for dear life. acro is dead
