hello all
currently i have a Bubble tip w/ a clarkii but unfortunatly the clown goes no where near the anenome. so i decided to hand feed him a chunk of squid but he wanted nothing to do with it and kept spitting it out. i dont' want to harm him by craming food down his troat but i'm afraid he currently does not get enough nutrition.
any help would be appreciated

I use frozen harring from the bait store. It's cheap .I just cut one in half and thaw it out in a glass of warm water then place it in the anenome. I have also use shrimp in the can, and tuna in water, silver sides, but mostly harring that were packaged for bait, they just freeze them with no processing and have never had any problem , but I'm feeding a large carpet. So you may want to try small shrimp. Ours will eat chunks of table shrimp and mysis that I squirt in his direction while everyone else is feeding. Closes right up and eats fairly quickly. Here's a quick shot.

Food? Oh ah... yeah... I aahh.. feed mine lights, yep thats right lights since they are photo synthetic animals. :joy:
I also feed mine a variety of things, but not very often.
Mysis
Krill
Plankton
They get some flakes from the clowns.
I am currently running an experiment on one BTA. Once a week he gets a special diet. I have given him this special diet 3 times now and am not seeing any special results from this food yet for three weeks. It may take a while.

I feed mine a chunk of raw shrimp and sometimes I will feed it a piece of raw chicken. It eats that quicker than anything.

Thanks for the info Waterfaller.
Gave my rose bta his first feeding today. A piece of silverside soaked in selcon and zoe. He ate it up but what worried me was that one of my blood reds climbed on him and tried like hell to steal it. I had to shoo him off cause I wouldn't want the bta to turn and take him instead. That would be $25 down the drain.:nervous:

Unfortunately, thieves are always a problem; esp. shrimp and crabs. I dont think they get stung like a fish would, hard shell and all. The hardest thing for us is to make sure our shrimp/crabs are busy with their own chunk while feeding the anemone.
