feeding fish

I was just wondering what everyone else's feeding schedule is like. How many times a day do you feed them? What kind of food do you alternate between? Is there any special foods you feed for certain fish?
I feed mine twice a day. In the morning I feed frozen usually mysis or marine cuisine then at night I feed marine 5 which is like lil pellets. I started the pellets bc my clownfish wouldnt eat the frozen very well. Also algea sheets for the tangs.

There is no need to feed even once a day. I feed every other day and alternate pellets and homemade. If you feed too often you are potentially going to have water quality issues.

I feed mine frozen once a day. Then maybe once a week or once every other week I throw in a bit of flake, this is usually when I'm in a hurry or get home late. For the most part frozen once a day is what they get

I feed my 29g and 225 1x a day...the 54g seahorse tank 2x....99% of the food is frozen.
Mysis, marine cuisine, emerald entree, bloodworms, mega marine angel, mega marine algae, formula 2, prime reef, spirulina, brine shrimp, ANYWAY...I may have left something out..lol....but you get the point
I also have formula 2 pellets and flakes, and thera+A flakes...I do them MAYBE 1-2x a week...and only a pinch
OOPS..I forgot ...algae sheets too
OH YEAH...I feed scallops and frozen raw shrimp to my stingray, anemone and brain

do you feed all those things at once or do you put like half a cube of a couple different frozen things in at once or how do you do it?

how do you add vitamins? put the cube in a cup & wait for the frozen stuff to melt and then put the vitamins in?

i put frozen cubes in a small cup, and drop vitamins on top...they mix as they defrost, or i use aspoon

do you always let your cubes defrost b4 you put them in? I usually just hold the cube in the water and move it around inbetween my fingers for it to fall apart or else it'll float to the back of the tank behind the skimmer intake so no one can get any. should i defrost b4 putting in tank?

Yeah, I set all the food out...add vitamins, and after they defrost I add them to the tank.
I don't think it really matters how you do it...I just have my own little routine...LOL...plus they soak up the vitamins as they are defrosting

Is it really important to give them vitamins? if so what is a basic kind that would be good for all saltwaterfish? i have a hawkfish, purple psuechromis, 2 clowns, 4 tangs.

IMO yes...vitamins are important to their health....If I had to list the 2 most important...I would say Selcon and vita chem....maybe someone else will offer more on that too...
BUT I think each one has its own importance, that is why I have a few types and alternate them...

They come in a package like this
Attachment 227687
Usually with a clip that has a suction cup so you stick it to the side of your tank
Snails...no...tangs, angels...yes....actually even my clowns and damsels eat it
OHHHH it also comes in red, brown, purple....

in my opinion, feeding twice a day is OK, as long as ALL the food is eaten within a couple minutes.
if there is food remaining and floating around the tank, you're definitely over feeding.
just my 0.02
