Here's some pics of the beginning; FINALLY; I've had the tank since the 12th, but had to wait on the stand for Christmas. I have 44 lbs of LS & 33 lbs of LR. Here are some pics of the tank, lights and stand. I'll upload a good pic of it all together once the sand settles. I keep playing in it aqua-scaping.

Thanks Mike, wait till you see it all together. IF I can keep my hands out of it so the sand would settle. I got a different live sand this time. carib and I don' t like it to much. Touch it and you have instant cloud!!!! Plus has lots of shells bits in it. What's the ETA on your set up?

probably the middle to end of jan before we start adding sand and water, im actually gonna use playground sand if i can find some here local, then get a cup of live sand to seed it, i should be able to do a 1-1.5" sand bed for about 10 bucks that way LOL, then, get some lava rock to use as base rock, ive been told thats safe, but if im wrong, please correct me now LOL an then get a few smaller pieces of LR to seed that, an go from there

Hi, and Welcome

I like the setup

If you have any problems along the way just let us know

Thanks. NOW comes the hard part. SET and wait.. How often do you guys test during the cycle? My last one I tested every day; I thought I read on here somewhere, once a week?

OKay; that's what I thought. Here's a pic of the rock in place; still cloudy though....I'm sure before it's all over I'll change it again.

Looks very good from what i can see...lol
Make sure to keep your rocks off your back wall a little bit so there is circulation through there...And make sure your bottom rocks are touching the bottom of your tank...Just in case if you decide to get something that burrows...

Check on all the above. I have a Hydor Koralia nano power head in there; will probably buy another to make sure there is flow every where..

Looking great so far. That stand looks pretty nice as well. From what I can see of your aquascaping it looks cool

Here's a couple shots since the water cleared. I discovered all kinds of feather dusters on the rocks. Will they live through the cycle? I included one in a pic

Looks fantastic
I really like how you have it set-up. The feather duster will probably pull through just fine. I had a couple make it through my initial cycle
Can't wait to see it start filling up. Just remember to research before you buy and you won't go wrong
and have fun
