While your tank is cycling you don't need any lights on. They will add to any aglae blooms that are going to happen. When doing top off use only RODI or Distilled water. Don't use tap water. You never know what kind of nasty's are in it.

When i started my 30 gallon, i didn't add a heater thinking that if i don't have any fish, the heater isn't that important. I failed to realize that cold water doesn't disolve salt like warm water does. About an hour after i added a heater, the water was crystal clear.

dont get damsels, you'll regret it. if you want a hardy fish that you dont want to kill, but just want to kind of "test the waters" on, just get a small clownfish. About 15-20 bucks at most LFS. Clownfish are a type of damsel, so they're pretty much unkillable, compared to most "normal" saltwater fish. Mine lived through an ammonia spike of 4.0 (extremely extremely high lol). Plus, when the tank settles down and gets where it needs to be, you won't mind having the clown, but you'll HATE the damnsel. It will kill/harass everything else you put in the tankfrom now until forever, and they're impossible to get out once in there.

coral banded shrimp can get mean to other inverts the first 5 mins of having it in my tank it took my cleaner shrimps cave where he perched... he bossed my cleaner shrimp around... before my tank crashed he would always try to pinch the fish.
I just left him in my crashed tank. hes still kickin but after I make sure that there is no bristle worms in the tank that crashed im just gonna trade him back in

Thats Green Star Polyps, Or Purple Star Polyps. Not a Organ pipe i believe. But cool that you got some stuff in there. Dont be rushing to put things in your tank or you will lose everything fast as you got it. Be patient and you will be happy in the long run. this is what i've learned. Goodluck

Star polyps do not need to be directly fed. They will get what they can from the water column. Also like most coral they are photosynthetic and get their nutrition from the light. I think Damsels are great fish. However you will have problems in the future with them if you add other fish. They are terrors. Also that brilliant color you see on them as juveniles goes away in a lot of them as they get bigger - older. Coral banded shrimp are cool however they are also terrors. Better off in my opinion to get some other type if you want a shrimp. Show us some more pics. Looks like you have a good start going. Also listen to the others when they say take it slowly.

You have certainly added a lot in 16 days... IMO I would slow down just a bit. Have you tested your levels yet? If so what are the readings? All to often we take the advice of our LFS and they say "your fine" in reality your not. Im not saying either what I suggest is you buy a decent test kit/s for Alkalinity, Calcium, nitrates, amonia, pH and a refractometer for salinity. And post your actual numbers.

@perfectdark...i dont even know its only 16 days now...i know its too fast...im still forcing myself to slowdown...thanks for the adviced..
here's my last reading :
pH: 8.1 - 8.2
Salinity: 1.025
Alk: 8.0-9.5
Mg: 1280
All other readings were zero (Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate).
is it a good readings ??? what should i improve ??
@spanko..here's my tank Today [2 minutes before posting this]
Full Tank Shot

my polyps

im almost 100% sure going to get rid of my damsel...
i just dont understand with one of my chromis...i have 2.. the other one is ok and swimming happily but this one....all day,all night stay in this one spot [on the corner, behind my outtake filter]

What is your lighting on this tank? Not trying to be a critic but I just wanted to make sure its sufficient for the corals.
More than likely your Chromis has been terrorized by the Damsels and is hiding from it. Damsels are mean little guys. Mine attached every fish in my tank along with my sally light foot crab. He even messed with my clowns after they showed him who was boss.

Yeah if you are not going to keep the damsels best to get them out now while you don't have much in there. They are hard little guys to catch and the more in your tank the more places to hide. Your tank looks nice right now but at 16 days have you seen the brown algae (diatoms) on your rock and or sand yet? Normally you would get this towards the end of your cycle. I agree with everyone else right now, get rid of the damsels if that is what you are going to do and stop putting anything in right now. Wait a week and see what develops in the tank. Then if everything is still zero go ahead and get some clean up crew. Keep posting and asking questions. Many here to help.
