fish costs

I am wondering what is the most that you guys would pay for a fish. This can be either for an order off the internet or from a lfs, and if you would please state if it would matter whether it was off the internet or from a lfs.
I am just curious and would appreciate everyone's opinion.

this site's prices arent bad at all, usually really healthy. Depending on what fish your looking for and where you live ... prices do vary.
I know i can get a flame angel for 15 bucks in my LFS which is 50% cheaper then this site. Some LFS will give you discounts if your a regular.

Ryebread live in your town maybe he will chime in and give you a name or two to fine some good quality fish at a low price. He is always helpful one the most on this board.

I will pay alot for a fish I really want, but beware of the fish that go on sale, they have probably been at your lfs for awhile and probably aren't in good health.

I just paid 45.00, for a volitan lion on Friday. I probably got ripped but to me, he's well worth it.:D

The photo is of a Polleni Harlequin Grouper and no it isn't mine. At $800 it is a little steep for my fishy budget! :D

My LFS asks $60 for a flame angel. The most I would pay for a fish is $65, but only for a very rare and beautiful fish....I got my flame angel locally for $36 at another fish store. Lesley

Yeah, I wasn't really looking for places to get fish since I work at a lfs.... but just wondering what would be the most that everyone would pay for a fish. I kind of asked it because of the picture that RyeBread posted. We have gotten in a couple of the polleni harlequin grouper's and wondering how many people would actually be interested in a fish that expensive.
RyeBread- I assume you know what store I work at and have been in before? (since that looks like the fish we had and the tank he was in...) Next time you are in you should say hi, and I can probably hook you up too!

Aquatics and Exotics of course!!
Yes, that is one of the Pollenis that you guys had in there........beautiful fish but, as you have already seen.......hard to shell out that kind of dough for a fish.......hard for me anyway! :D
Cincyreefer- What is your name? You have probably waited on me before.......I always buy your clams up. ;) Jason usually helps me out but, there is another gentlemen in there that is really helpful too.
How are the baby clowns doing?

My name is Mark... I only started working there back in March. Don't know if I have sold anything from our reef to someone of your age, but who knows. The clowns are doing great, they are big enough for us to sell now so probably won't stay around too long. It was pretty cool though, a guy from predatory fish just did an article about our black tip reef sharks, and the ACA convention was pretty awesome.
P.S. We just got in an 3" ultra grade crocea... might be worth checking out!

Hmm......Ultra Crocea huh? I might just have to stop in soon. ;)
Are you guys planning on putting anything else in that 10,000 gallon tank? Those Black Tips are sweet.......I wish that I could get a nice photo of them but, it is hard through that little window. :(
What size tank is that in back with the Threadfin Lookdowns and all the tangs, and triggers, and puffers oh my?

We want to put something else in with the sharks but getting something big enough is kinda hard, plus we are worried about possibly introducing something into the tank. I have a few decent pictures of them but there is a little glare from the window. The back tank is 2200 gallons.
