Has anyone had their lmb eat red slime? I heard a rumor that they would and that is why I bought mine. I haven't seen it eat any...but do they ever or was this a terrible lie?

ours, in the beginning, did eat some, but not enough worth mentioning, he seemed to have other preferences that he likes better.

lawnmower blennies are nice, peaceful and interesting too.seems to be a fish for novices,in bettween and advanced aquarists its a fish thats not to hard to keep and change their color at night to the live rock when the lights go out.

I don't feed mine. He eats left over pellets in the sand, and hair algea. He does not bother my macro algea. I used to never see him. i got macro algea, and now he has made the plants his new home. he has a huge beer belly, but if he sees you he will hide.

Ok, so I have a LMB question. We introduced one into our tank on Saturday. He's been doing quite well, skipping around looking at the rock and stuff.
This morning before I left for work, I noticed about the last 1/3 of his body has turned colors? His overall color is a greyish tan, and this has turned to an almost cream color?
Any thoughts??:notsure:

When i first set up my tank, i based my experiences on my freshwater tanks, and i had no idea how big a problem the algae would be, and how long it takes to add fish, so i threw a couple damsels and a basslet in with LRLS, thinking "hey its only 3 little fish in a 29g, thats nothing in a FW tank..." no cleaning crew or anything, so my tank ended up like the green tank in finding nemo... LFS recommended LMB, and wham! he ate all the diatoms off the glass, mowed the hair algae, and with just him, a sand sifter and 4 crabs, my tank is spotless! he's now my personal hero, and ill never have a tank without one.
BTW, haven't had to feed the fat pig at all... he just swims around and nibbles the little algae tufts all day and only seems to get fatter.

my blenny changes colors too... he usually seems to get really dark just before my first set of lights go out, like he knows it's bedtime...
