The water here was 67 degrees yesterday which is considered cold around here. I was able to entice the snook to bite in the cold which is tough to do

I love fishing on a lake in the CA Sierras... ahhh so beautiful and relaxing... sometimes boring lol
I used to fish in the SF Bay and I never ever caught a normal fish, but I have caught dozens of sting rays and a shark!

What kind of shark and how big? I target them in the summer and catch a lot from shore at night. It worries the summer tourists to see that we can catch them from the beach. :scared:

nothing huge... I think it was a 2 1/2 foot leopard shark... I caught it on the levee across the street from my house... of course I let him go!

I hear you....every year I go to Pensacola, FL to visit my in-laws. EVERY YEAR, I don't catch squat and become a retired fisherman.....It sucks and it is frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait until spring break so I can retire once more....that is until June when we go to South Padre Island, TX and do some deep sea fishing.....Hopefully i'll have some pictures to share from that expedition...

Unfortunately I've only been able to do freshwater. I've always wanted to catch some saltwater fish, but haven't had the opportunity.

Primarily, I love Bass fishing. I used to fish some local tournaments around here on lake tarpon years ago.
There are also a series of bayous locally that snook and reds run through heavily in the winter months. We used to have good luck with Rattletraps and Gold Sprite Spoons. Man I havent fished in forever. I may have to call in sick tomorrow!!!

Do it. Take a mental health day and go fishing. Mirrolure makes a new lure the "MR 19" it is a great shallow water lure and the snook tear them up.

30-xtra,
If you go to S. Carolina in the cold months look into bluefin tuna fishing. They catch them with good success and they're HUGE.
