If you just dumped the salt into the water and relied on the pump to mix it then that could be the problem. Salk should be vigerously mixed while slowly pouring it into the water. It needs to be dissolved as fast as possible into COLD water.

i do not heat the water until i added my preset amount i have set for the amount of water i have..
but i did have the bucket full of water when i added the 13-14 cups of salt. and i did add it all at once.
is it best to add a few cups ever half hour? instead of all at once.

purchased a 50 gallon rubbermaid trash c an bucket..
it has wheels at the bottom, but never plan on moving it when it has water in it.
problem is that it is bulging on one side..
its a square bucket...
dont want a water disaster in myh house if it breaks...

added two small perc clownfish today..
and a six line wrasse. also small.
and a medium female lyretail anthia...
nitrates are going down now.. tested it with an old salifert test i have.
i think my month old api's just suck.
