hey yall

i have a pajama cardinalfish (pj) that's had a hard life, so ofcourse he's my baby.i live where mysis shrimp and all the healthy food to feed him isn't available, all we can get here is brine which i know isn't good to just feed him that.
my question is, is there a flake food that he might eat that i could toss in when i feed my other little ones. he goes after their flakes, but it's mainly formula two veggies and he spits it out

Flake food is a terrible thing to do to an aquarium.
Is there a grocery store with a seafood section? Just blend up some seafood and feed your fish that.

yeah we have a seafood section, with frozen shrimp, which fish will grab, swim around with, and spit out so the levels spike up and protein skimmer gets filthy after one feeding

Bang,
Why is flake bad? Secondly....is the mixed seafood that we can get at Wal-mart good enough? I believe it had squidd, octopus, shrimp, and something else......not sure.

Flakes go uneaten can REALLY pollute the tank. Frozen brine is horrible to feed fish too as it has NO nutrtional value AT ALL.

Heres how I feed:
Go to your grocery store and pick up a frozen bag of mixed seafood. Let it defrost halfway, and put it in the blender for 4 seconds. Take it out and make 3/4 inch thick patties with it and put it in zip lock bags. Then lay it flat in the freezer and let freeze. You then can just take it out and break a piece off and feed it to your fish. Make sure to turn off all you powerheads when you feed this.
P.S.
Try not to get a bag that has oysters in it. It makes you skimmer go crazy. :scared:

i would love to be able to get my fish squid and scallops and all the other stuff ya'll mentioned, but we have to drive 2 1/2 hours just to get flake food & algea strips. when we actually go to where we buy our stuff we stay for the whole day, so we cant get any frozen food like mysis and stuff. all our town sells is brine & even tho i know thats not good for them, it's all i got to offer pj. i asked bout feeding him before we ordered him and was told that would be fine, otherwise we prolly wouldnt have ordered him since we dont have the correct food source.
so i'll take it that the answer is there is no flake food that a cardinalfish would eat

Order online. I can't buy anything for my animals here and I just ordered a bunch of frozen onilne. Most places have a minumim order of $20 and shipping is $20 for overnight so you might end up with way more food than you need, at least I did but you'll only have to order once a year most likely. Expensive but what in this hobby isn't?

to anyone, it hasn't been the best day. it's just that we know the fish need squid and stuff, but there's two safe grocery stores in our town that only carry shrimp since no one in our hick town eats anything but shrimp (buncha redneck farmers lol)
not sure this is allowed, but if it is, can anyone suggest a site to order from?
