Flame Angel Reef Safe?

I'm looking at purchasing a flame angel. I have a reef tank with a wide variety of corals, mushrooms, and clams. Is a flame angel reef safe? My book says no but diffrent web sites have all said yes.

Its a gamble when it comes to pygmy angels, though there are quite a few here that have FA's in reef tanks such as NMReef.

All the flames that I've experienced have not nipped at my corals. I tried a coral beauty once but had to take her out because she did like the taste of them. It's a gamble but I thinks that flame angels are gorgeous. I have one in my 125 reef now and so far so good.

I just added several sps frags and my Atlantic pygmy angel has looked as though he might be interested in them after not touching others for months. It might pick on certain frags and have no interest in others. JMO

Mine has a taste for small polyps, and sometimes sand sifting starfish legs! Don't do it! HTH
