Flame Angel

I plan to add a Flame Angel to my 55g tank (no corals), and am looking for as much info as I can get. I would also love to hear about personal experiences. If you have kept these fish, I would like to know what size tank you have, what you feed, tankmates, ect.
Thank you!

I bought one when he was about one inch long. Hardy fish. My tank crashed once and he survived. Beautiful fish. Go for it. Just make sure your water parameters are good.
Good luck!

What do you feed?

They're great fish. Definitely try to make it your last fish as they tend to be aggressive towards new inhabitants. They do need established LR to pick on and you need to provide them with a good diet meant for angels that have sponge in it.

So doing some research on what to feed and checked out ocean nutritions site and found two different frozen formulas for angels.
The weird thing is the Pygmy formula says no sponge vs. the regular Angel formula that is packed with sponge?
What do you all think, is this off, and they should have sponge?
(Hope you dont mind the quick question trying to help out, and came across this and thought I'd ask)

As long as is about flame angels, or other angels, feel free to ask questions! I don't care.
I believe the formula with sponge is the one to buy. I think that is the whole point of the angel formula...

I believe some need more than others, but I've always been told/read that they all need it large or dwarf. I've always fed mine food with sponge in it and have excellent results. My Coral Beauty is a little fatty!
I do not feed pellets or flakes, don't like them and think a lot is wasted.
This is what I feed:
SanFrancisco Bay Brand Emerald Entree and Marine Cuisine 1cube 2x a day (marine cuisine is new, I used to only feed EE 2x a day, now we're doing 1/2 a cube of each a day)
PE Mysis - night
Reef Nutrition ArtiPods - morning
Spirulina Brine Shrimp
Squid (also new so no measurement yet, trying to see if the fish like it)
Live Baby Brine 2x a month
all food gets Boyd's VitaChem for Saltwater added to it (which has sponge extract in it as well)
Also, there is always a 3"x3" strip of each in my tank:
Ocean Nutrition Brown Algae Sheets with added garlic extract
Ocean Nutrition Red Algae Sheets with added garlic extract
I have 17 fish in my tank right now though (two dwarfs)

I think I will feed some sort of angel diet, formula flakes, spirulina flake, Nori, mysis, and maybe daphnia. Should work well.

Great fish, very hardy. Usually eat what ever I feed the tank. As with all new fish, please QT prior to adding. IMO they can carry unwanted guests in their gut. Better to Be safe than sorry.

I'm tagging along as well....thinking of trading my CB for a flame. Which do you think should be last...a powder blue, or a flame? I'm actually thinking the PB should be in as the second-to-last, and the flame last....

From what I have heard, the flame angel should be added last.
Thank you everyone, this has definitely made me look forward to getting an angel. Sounds like it won't be too hard, as long as I feed right. Of course, more advice is always welcome!

Add the flame last unless you plan on buying a full grown PB. I actually have more of an aggression issue with my CB than the Flame, but the CB was in the tank for well over a year before I added the Flame.

Never had an issue with either of mine. As with any angel, there's always a risk, but Flames are one of the least likely to bother your corals.
