Flexible hose?

I have my 90 RR aqueon tank and the overflow accessory kit. The bulkheads are barb style for flexible hose. Do alot of you guys run the flexible hose? I was going to run a clear high pressure hose. Thanks, just worried about it leaking!

I went to Lowes and bought some clear reinforced hoses, and have them on with hose clamps.....no leaks....(knocks on wood)

my set up came with a flex hose much like a vacume cleaner hose with a sold plastic head. I heated the head up a bit and pushed it on over the barbs. Dont over heat so that it melts just enough to be pliable.

I have both the reinforced flex (white spa hose) and the clear non reinforced on my tank. Oddly enough i have the reinforced on the overflow and the non reinforced on the return. Ahh i remember now, the reinforced can be a pain to work with in tight places, thats why i went with the clear stuff for the return. Almost two years running and no problems yet. I doubt that you are going to encounter enough presure to warrant any super duper reinforced space aged type hose. Plus the clear hose allowes you to monitor the alge build up in the line. Just be carefull not to make any crazy sharp bends cause it will kink over time if you do. Hpoe that helps.

Flexible hose and barb fitting work great. If there is a down side its that you have to cut the hose to remove it from the bard. Just make sure the length of the hose will not pose a problem with the amount cut off if need be
