OK...In my Phosban reactor thread...we talked about my feeding and I was told I feed WAYYYYY too much
https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/vb/s...-Reactor/page3
I am gradually reducing the food (I cut it in half so far), and doing more algae sheets....I just added a 2 x 5 strip of green algae....and the fish had it gone is seconds!!!!!! Do I add more? How long should a small piece of algae sheet last????

If it makes you feel better use the same amount and break it in half clipping half of it in the morning and half in the evening. I fed my tangs 3x3 algae sheets each daily and they finished them in about 10 minutes. I grew a hippo from an 1" to 3" and had another perfectly healthy 3.5" powder brown fed on 3x3" algae sheets per day. its enough.
small hippo reared in the 30g

same tang a year later pefectly healthy on 3X3" daily algae sheet diet (as was the powder brown)

ALL these fish (four lyretail anthias, two tangs, midas blenny) lived fine off of half cube
(1/4 cube twice a day) and two 3x3" algae sheets a day. you have more fish but most dont have the dietary requirements of anthias. you also have a 125g larger display then I had to better cope with larger feedings.

If I put 10 algae sheets and fed 3 cubes a day they'd probably eat it.

If you feed live macro algae from a refugium, the whole worry about phosphates is gone. After all the macors will actually reduce the phosphates so all they do is recycle the nutrients into fish food.

I am currently looking into some "algaes" "macros" "plants" whatever they may be called to stick in the refugium
Do you have any recommendations? You do realize they are very difficult to find

Thanks guys....I have cut the food down more :) I feel so stingy.....LOL BUT my food budget will now go down too

Very nice pics there Stanlalee. I would argue the point of using the macro in your fuge; that you used to absorb the phos and then feed them back into the tank......
