I'm a dude, but my wife loves Palin. By the way, so do I. Palin must have a lot going for her since the Dems are making so much noise about how "unqualified" she is. I actually think they are running scared now.

It is a complete double standard to criticize Mc for picking a young female VP when Obama picked...what...an older white male? It's the same concept. Both are just trying to appeal to more voters.

I also think it is terrible how she is being criticized for running for office when she has a baby at home that "needs to be taken care of." If it was her husband that was running, no one would have cared that they just had a child. Now THAT is sexism.

So who would you have picked? And how exactly is Palin bogus? In fact, if you check her resume, you'll find that she is refreshingly one of the most real, genuine conservatives to come along in quite some time. I would be real careful about selling her too short.

Isn't that the part of the movie where they are trying to cheer themselves up, and riiight before their stupidity kills them?

Thanks for a valid point and my wife agrees with the black vote issue...Maybe I can use that as a counterpoint to her issues with McCain's nomination.
So that makes it okay to vote because of ignorance? Vote for the person/ticket you think will do the best job, and the one that best addresses your issues..
I too, think this vote was to pander to women... and was simply a political decision. Black people are not voting for Obama just because he is black, of course there is a small % that are... and I would say those people are ignorant... just like Clinton feminist voters... I just don't buy what the GOP is trying to sell... We have not heard much about her... and about 1/2 is negative... We know she is a governor of 2 years of Alaska, NRA member, conservative... also that about her new baby, daughter's situation, investigation of abuse of power...

So are some of the people on this site... I just don't see how you all are comfortable with her... throw out the family issues... with a 72 year candidate who has had cancer 4 times.... and a woman who has 0 foreign policy experience...
If you wanted to pick a woman Rice would have been the one... however she was not interested...
Romney would have been a better choice... Is Palin the most qualified candidate? All I hear is this is a woman with "a lot of guts" "She's tough"
I hear she has only been out of the country once in her life...

yawn, oooo investigations...
You don't think Biden was a political choice to pander to the "white male voter". And you still have a case of a guy with less than a year of experience as 1 of 100 in the senate before he threw his name in the hat. Vs a guy with a couple decades of experience in congress...
One more question, why haven't we heard anything about Biden's health? After all he has had how many brain aneurysms?

You know, heavy cocaine use can lead to some serious issues as far as causing life threatening bleed outs in the sinuses. And Obama has admitted to heavy cocaine use. I think we need to have a medical investigation to insure he isn't going to die of a bloody nose

I don't think so... his pick was to sure up experience... foreign policy... and as an "attack dog". I think Biden will gain white male and female vote based on his record... in particular his domestic violence bill as it pertains to women..
He did have aneurysms... however I believe they were dated back to '88. I'd assume he's on medication to allievate that risk... I have heard it being mentioned.... also we haven't heard a whole lot about McCain and cancer... I'd say more is reported about the age question..
Obama has been in Senate since 04 is that correct? Palin since 06... is that correct... Elected in Nov both of them in the prior year. Now I they are campaigning for different jobs, but these two will be the ones evaluated based on experience and what extra they bring to the table... McCain vs Biden is a wash....
I think Biden and Obama compliment one another.... I don't get the same feeling w/ Palin & McCain...

Obama picked Biden because he is Obama white. They hold the same stance on virtually everything.

It depends what is being complemented, for a conservative, this shows McCain's intention not to swing back left after he gets elected... This is really key, A LOT of conservatives were grudgingly dragging their feet on McCain...
Both moves shore up their base.
You guys knock her experience, but what have dems been saying about Bush and Cheney for the past 8 years? Oh Bush is the idiot Cheney is running everything... Now you want an experienced person as our veep? To do what exactly? Seems like a catch 22 if you ask me...
Of course you don't like it, if you did, I'd be scared...

Weren't all of the so to speak contenders ... "white" except for Bill Richardson... If he would have pick Sebuilus according to you it would have been because she is a women... Richardson... to reach out to those hispanic voters...
I put more stock into your comments of they hold the same stance on virtually everything... I mean you could say politically if he wanted to pander for votes he'd pick Clinton...
But to your point.... is she the "maverick" woman McCain?

My feeling is that the 2 should complement each other... do you think as far as McCain and Palin... Did he choose the best person for VP?

I can't think of a better pick... Romney I never really liked, (because he had to backtrack on some issues) Never a big fan of the huckster. I don't know why. Another woman option, Hutchinson would have been fine, imo. However that puts another senate seat in the air politically. And another lifer in the senate. She wouldn't have had the splash that Palin has. Jindal said no and he just got elected 9 months ago. Rice said HECK no. Plus you don't know what her positions are. Gen. Petraus, I don't know his political aspirations or positions are. Am I missing some big name?
Oh I did, Lieberman and what was that governor name? IMO neither one were good picks when it comes to actually winning. Plus if McCain nominated Lieberman you'd be (to use your argument) one heartbeat away from having a life long democrat back in office. (I know he is an independent) Apparently the litmus test for being a democrat is to be anti-war... Because he is tried and true democrat on just about every other issue. Do you really think a republican would vote for that?
If they were good candidates for veep, then you obama should have nominated ron paul....
With Palin, you get a new face on the national scene, real change. (doesn't look like those president's on the dollar bill...) Self made. You know what her positions are. She has A LOT of experience with the energy without actually being an "oil man"... And to top it off she is conservative!
What is not to like? McCain nominated someone who could turn around and run for prez in 8 years. That holds the same positions that I do... I do honestly think it is great!
Besides if all you can say bad about her is that her daughter did a little philandering, and she can't be veep and mom. Oh and she doesn't have "experience" then I'd say he made one heck of a pick...

Funny you refer to the democrats as a bunch of brainless male fashion models . That what the republicans think they are too . They look sharp in a suit but thats about all they got going for them .

Her husband is an oil man... Could there be a conflict there? She promotes drilling and pipelines... has no exp. w/ alternatives... The self made thing... Aren't they all sort of self-made...
Any VP could run for Pres after 8 years if they do a decent job... as did Gore, Bush, and so on.
As far as her position on abstinenance... she supports gov't funding of it in schools... but not for contraceptives/education... her situation kinda shows the reason why there is a need for both... I see a thread on the issue was locked... so don't want to go into detail about that... I think Romney would have been a better choice...
What are her positions/solutions on the #1 and #2 issues, the economy and Iraq war? What has she done in regards to economy in Alaska.. and I heard she said something about "she doesn't think about the Iraq war"
