I am torn on getting another car. I want to buy American but don't want to support the corrupt United Auto Workers union.

Not surprising on the Sho seeing as how the engine was developed by Yamaha.
Yep, it was a yamaha engine. $15,500 it cost to get the new engine and another $400 for a new CAT converter. Luckily the warrenty took care of it and I didn't have to claim it on my insurance. They asked me what happend and I said I don't know...the engine just started acting funny one day, I heard a pop and them it lost power. I don't think ford made any money on that car.

Nothing but a bunch of overpaid cry babies IMO. I think ford struck a pretty good deal with them though that cut out alot of the excess that they were getting before. My old man would say that the union workers pretty much just hang out not doing anything while all the real employees did everything.

I just kinda assumed that, because they typically were full sized cars in the past. (take out the Camry) but that is a Toyota anyway. Is Toyota even making a full size anymore. I know they had an Avalon for a while. That I assume was their full size car. The Camry isn't...

Hell I'll bet 1% of your auto purchase makes it into democrat slush funds...

geeze, why can't I ever get away with something like that... When my wife's Mazda (might as well be a ford just for you Phil :)) 6 blew up its tranny, with 50k miles on it. They (the ford dealer) told me no warranty and 5k for a new one...

Well, Spartan...I may have some good news for you in this area. But first I wish to know what it's worth to ya?

The A plan is a no go. Ford doesn't do the B plan anymore which was for used vehicles. Friends and neighbors are eligable for the X plan which is almost as good as the A. He said it wouldn't be much trouble to generate the PIN code for ya when the time comes.

Hey, I just realized you can already get the X plan. Which is what you said in your origional post. Hmmm...sorry, dude! I guess it's not good news after all.

It's for friends and neighbors. I don't know what it actually gets you. I guess it depends on what you can work out with the dealer. It'll give you some manor of a discount though. My old man says it's almost just as good as the A plan which is for immediate family. I don't know if he can fudge it or not. I believe my cousin tried to hit him up for it last year but I don't think it happened.

Hey Corey, it's fine no worries. Thank you for seeing what you could do. Yeah, I'm going to talk to my dealership and see what they can do when the time comes around. Hopefully they can pull some strings.

Funny, I can't even see paying $300 for one....well, unless I just wanting something fun to be able to run over in my truck.

I have wanted one since I was 18.....a LONG time....LOL....adn you know what....I only drove one for the first time about 3 months ago....I LOVED IT
Was it a normal miata or a monster miata? The monster miata has a 289 shoehorned in under the hood. I have seen one and let me tell you the horsepower to weight ratio was just a little stoopid!

I have a relative that works for a Ford, Chrysler, Jaguar, Audi, Nissan, and Infiniti Supplier. He gets the manufacturer discounts on virtually every car on the market. He gave me this some time ago:
All any eligible individual needs to get started is our company supplier code, which is XY254 (Please Note: Eligible individual defined as; any employee receiving benefits from Alcoa and their spouse. Retirees are eligible for this program). The vehicle must be titled and registered to the eligible employee or spouse. Those interested can then register for Partner Recognition or just request more information by logging on to www.fordpartner.com (you must enter the supplier code – XY254) or by calling 1-877-XPLAN-00 (U.S.) or 1-877-294-7554 (Canada).
I haven't tried generating a PIN with this code, and I don't know if a dealership will require Proof Of Employment with Alcoa to use it. I have used one of the codes in the past. Got a great discount on a Dodge once, but didn't have much success with Ford. Everytime I went into a Ford Dealership and told them I had access to the X-Plan, they just said, "With our current dealer discounts, we can beat any X-Plan discount you have. As a matter of fact, if you do hand me an X-Plan document, I have to honor that discount instead of our dealer incentives, and you'd lose money."
