I got a new foxface last sunday. tank is 65 gal with LR. Other fish are 2 Damsels (1 Yellowtail and One blue). and 1 Tomato Clown that was added with the Foxface. Also have assorted hermits and snails 1 sally crab, 1 Emerald Crab, 1 peppermint shrimp 1 CB Shrimp.
I know that the foxface can lose some color when first added to tank. I don;t think he is eating well though. I try to feed formula one when he is out and about but I only saw him eat that once. I have a sheet of seaweed on the side of tank. and I have tried feeding with my frozen mysis shrimp. I was worried because yesterday I found the foxface sitting stillon top of one of the powerheads, all the spines up on his back and he was a mottled brown color. I honestly thought he was dead. This is the way that he sits on the bottom of the tank under a rock also.
Everytime I approach the tank it seems like he goes into hiding which scares me because he only seems to eat if he sees it when it is put in. Sometimes (It seems like he hides all day. All the other fish seem to be leaving him alone. Never see any by him.
can anyone tell me if this is normal behavior for this kind of fish and maybe I need to get something else to feed him? One day I noticed that he was swimming across tank at full speed and running into the side of the tank. BF said that maybe he wasn;t used to larger tank then they had at the fish Store.
