Fuge Sand

Hi all :help: I am in the process of setting up a 15 gal fuge for my 75 gal tank. My question is about the substrate, i would like to know if i add 30 lbs of carib sea fine arogonite sand that is sold in bags (dry sand) will it possibly kick my DT into a cycle?
Setting up fuge for obvious reasons...:scared:

ive wonderd the same thing... cause im thinking about adding a good size fuge to my tank and was wondering about if i would need to cycle it.. or if it would throw off my parameters

My sand didnt start a cycle, it was a little cloudy, thats about it....

Any dry aragonite sand should be cured before being introduced into an established tank IMO.

yup.. that part i knew.. but does the fuge itself need to cycle at all before you tie it into the display.. sorry for asking questions on your thread

I set up my 30G fug w/ 40lbs of Argonite Sand. Made up some new water, added it, and started pumping at about 500GPH to get water mixed in well. Added plants the next day, and some rock and slowed down flow. Never got a cycle!
