Galaxia not growing

So Ive had my galaxia for something around 6 months now and it hasn't grown even a little bit. Also it hasn't sent out a sweeper tentacle night or day that i've seen since the first month it was in there.
Any suggestions? I have it on a ledge all by itself away from all other corals so it doesnt sting anything. I dunno if I should try to get it more light, more calcium (420) or something else.
my duncnas, acros, sunset monti and stag are all growing fantastic.
along the same lines I also have an orange monti cap that hasn't grown at all since Ive had him. He's had a semi rough life though, knocked off his ledge several times ect so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Alk is the one thing of the basic tests that I don't really know whats going on. my test for alk comes from a red sea test and it always says it's on the high end of things. But I'm not sure that I trust it. I REALLY need to get a better kit for that. was looking at a kit that tests mag and alk from seachem. any suggestions on a good kit? I'm going to be placing an order for an ATO soon so I'll probably pick one up at the same time. I've had the same crappy kit since I started saltwater and have always seemed to buy something more glamerous than an ALK kit. stupid me.
I feed the tank coral frenzy once a week at night, but I've never fed it anything directly. I tried feeding it krill a couple times just to see what happens but it never holds onto it, it just flaots up to the top. Havn't tried anything else.
Any suggestions there?
When I bought it it had lots of feeler tentacles that would come out and sting the other corals aound it in the LFS tank. Do those only come out when it is threatened because it knows there are otehr corals around or does a healthy specimen always have them out to some degree?
Thanks

Any minced seafood will work. Krill might be a bit too large. Frozen Cyclop-eeze is perfect. Seafood put in a blender with a little cod liver oil and some RO water was always my staple food (scallops, flounder, silversides, etc.)
After the main lights go out take a turkey baster and squirt a small amount of food at the coral. Wait about 10 minutes and the feeder tentacles should come out. Then you can squirt the food at it and it should hold on.

ok, I make my own food out of fresh seafood and I use a slap chop a bunch of times to get it into little tiny chuncks. so when I feed the corals next I'll give that a shot.

Ok Bang,
I finally got a decent KH kit
and my test came out to 10DKH or 3.57 meq/l
Now that I've done my frist test I'm afraid i don't even know what's good and what's bad. I do know that I'm supposed to be between 8- 11 so I assume I'm a bit high. Should I lower it somehow or just roll with what I have going?

ok, so maybe he's just fine but not growing? or do yuo think I should change his lighting.
He's just under halfway up a 25" tank with 6x T-5 HO lighting.
my LFS suggested moving him down. But I looked at his galaxia in his tank (different LFS than where I bought mine) and it looks just like mine. no feelers just a ball of green.

Well, thats the thing, I look at all hours, red light, daylight ect adn I havnt seen a feeler for months and this is the only coral I ahve that hasn't changed a bit since the day I put it in there size wise.
When I bought it from the LFS it had feelers out stinging other nearby corals and stuff but I Havn't seen one in a loooong time. WOudln't worry me except that it isn't growing either.

Where in the tank do you have it? I think this coral needs high lighting and moderate water movement, and should be fed microplankton and brine shrimp weekly. So maybe moving it would help, and try to spot feed it or just add liquid microplankton.

I havn't been spot feeding it, but when I feed the tank coral frenzy the water gets filled with goodies.
It's getting a pretty good amount of flow.
I'm just trying to decide if I should move it up or down.

It wouldn't hurt to try and move it up.
See what it does. I would also add a variety of food, not just coral frenzy.

well i run a turf scrubber and no skimmer so the amount of particulates in the water is a fair amount higher than most tanks for this exact purpose. I feed my own home made food with scallops, oysters squid, mussels, crab, nori and garlic. So these corals should be getting fed pretty good even without my feeding the coral frenzy which also has most of thses things and much more in a powder form. I don't feed the tank anything I can't pronounce :)
On another note. I am also having a serious lack of purple coraline alage. i even bought a rock from a friend that was solid purple to see if it would spread and it hasn't after a good two months of being in there. the coraline on that rock hasn't died off either, its just not growing or spreading.
calcium is 420-440
only thing now I'm not really testing for that some people do is magnesium, would this have anything to do with either of these things?
