GARRETT got the JOB

Webb did look pretty good but the trick is to be good once the defenses have seen enough tape on you. I think there are going to be some heartbroken Tebow fanboys here in Denver next season for that very reason.

Yeah, I know about the LB coach i was hoping for DC.
I think Pagec is a puppet.
Jackson is as good as gone. unless he wants to sign a FA tender as a third string QB I don't see him staying with the team.
Webb impressed the jheck out of me for how little he had to work with I felt he did a very fine job. I'd like to see him in the QB competition in training camp.
I'm presonally hoping we draft pouncey or weisneski with our first if Mallet isn't there when we pick. IMO he is the only NFL ready talent coming out since luck is staying in school.
Locker and Newton are nice picks, but not that high IMO.
Depends on whom you ask, McShay really doesn't like Mallet due to the footwork...Newton and Locker are not really NFL starter ready, but their "skill set" (as the scouts call it), is off the charts. I would rate Mallet last of the 4 potential first rounders (Gabbard from Mizzou being the other). You really need some level of mobility in the NFL.

Yeah, Mike "whats his name" with Carolina looked like a world beater the last few games of last year, not so good when he started the season as the starter...Once NFL teams know what to expect, it can be a different story.

I'd have to disagree, I think arm strength is more importnat than mobility.
That's what I love about mallet, kid has a gun. And how about those deep balls? Not only did her get the ball there, but he trew it perfectly in almost every case. Those two endzone throws couldnt have been thrown any better by any NFL QB.
I'm really surprised he completed 66% of his passes in his college career with those crappy recievers.
I really can't say anything on Gabbert or Locker as I've never seen them play at all.

Does any of it really matter? It's still going to be the sucky Cowboys no matter who plays for or coaches the team.

Being from the area you all know more than I. But, I was under the impression much of the problem with Wade was he did not instill/insist upon enough discipline and basically lost the players.
This is my opinion, one I've not heard (outside of once by Deon Sanders before "they" got to him.) And I apologize for my long windedness.
Jason got hired before Wade. Jason was paid as much as Wade. As far as I'm concerned Wade and Jason were for all intents and purposes duel head coaches. With wade carrying the official title. One was an offensive head coach, the other was a defensive head coach. Over the last 4 years, we've watched the offense struggle, debilitating penalties, Star players like Roy Williams failing to integrate into the offense. Once star players like Marion Barber are now on the chopping block. (if he is the "red headed jesus.") this is personnel coaching issues that he should be able to coach away. you know. Parcell's used Marion right. 3rd downs, red zone, and fourth quarter. Using him the whole game changes his game and lowers his effectiveness. But garrett switched him over because he was whining about not starting...
Then you get to this season. Jason Garrett's SCARRRYYYY offense scores one TD in the last few minutes against washington. Wade's defense only allowed 13 points... The next game, they allowed more, but 14 of that was off of turnovers inside the opponents 40... Basically this year, wade's "supposed" missmanaged defense came out ready to play. And the Brilliant Red headed jesus, offense was mired in ineffectiveness... Penalties, games where all they did was throw the ball. I watched games get called like Jason had Romo on some high stakes fantasy team, where yardage was worth everything. Anyway, the brilliantly coached offense, missed a simple blitz pickup and Romo got creamed during that Giants game.
IMO at that point the whole team gave up. And wade never got them back. IMO the whole ball of wax can be laid completely at the offense head coach's feet... But also, once Wade couldn't get his defense to play for him, he needed to go. But Garrett needed to go right along with him... He's the one that screwed everything up to begin with... When they were 1-7, it wasn't like the offense was playing better than the defense, if anything they were playing worse...
So seeing Garrett as the head coach now, makes my blood boil. I just don't think he will bring us superbowls...

And how long and for how many coaches has the discipline issues been with the cowboys? You gotta look beyond the coach to see what your real problem is.

Perhaps arm strength is more important, but Mallet has a 10 for arm strength, Locker is about a 9.5, the problem is Mallet's footwork is about a 4.....Locker's issue is accuracy, where he is about a 4 you can improve on accuracy with hard work IMO, it's tough to make a clumsey person agile.
Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell had monster arms and questionable footwork.....However inability to process defenses is what doomed them.
