Ya gov controls gas prices

No but they do control a lot of the reserves. And in other places regulate drilling. And thus limiting supply by banning production. And that will create upwards pressure on price. ECON 101
Although the perception of a shortage, will increase prices, this isn't going to actually change the supply, since the ban was lifted a few months ago, they hadn't begun selling leases and EVERYBODY and the dog saw this coming.

Banning doesn't help .Neither does WALL STREET.

I called this one months ago, I hate it when I'm right.
There is no sensible reason not to expand drilling. Job creation, taxes and royalty payments to the government.

exxon/mobil may have just hit jackpot drilling offshore brazil i think. they are already planning to drill another well due to the size of the find. the sad part is the country it was found off of will be the main monitary benificiary (as government goes).

lol dude, brazil has huge amounts of oil, enough where when full production happens it will be a major player in oil. But that is old news. what is sad about a country hitting the jackpot? ESPECIALLY after the financial turmoil they've had over the last 50 years.
Seriously Brazil is fixing to have a huge oil boom.

Yeah, and demand actually decreased, so please tell me how this is going to raise prices unless wall street is manipulating the price (which it was, probably while they knew they could get away with it....aka under Bush's watch)

hmmm...lets see, don't have to think to hard. If Oil can not pootentially be taken out of the ground in areas where it may have been it now becomes a rare commodity, thus speculators start investing thus pushing up the price, sort of like what happened before. There is no regulation saying you can't buy oil futures on the market thus driving up the price. And if there are more oil futures than readily available oil or potential oil the price goes up. This is how I understand it.
When this ban was lifted IMMEDIATELY the price shot down. If the ban is in effect, logic tells us it will go back up.
And if the price goes up NOW. There is no one to blame but democrats all the way around....lets see how much outrage we get over prices though.

Explain to me what I said that was inaccurate? Where did I say this action was going to raise prices short term.
If you'd bother to read the end of my post after explaining how the govt can and has influenced price. I offered a caveat, I didn't think it would have (and let me clarify) short term effects since no one was drilling yet anyway. Unless possibly people (the commodities market) foresees a future shortage and start buying up oil...
But I'll go fix the post.

Do some research on how this stuff is priced. Like if you were going to go buy some futures. Then get back to me, because that statemenet is based completely on ignorance.

all cars should just be made electric. we have the technology, i would love to see obama try and make all cars electric, and get us out of Iraq ( most important to me, i dont see why we attacked them in the first place?), and it would be nice if he raises taxes for the rich and lowers them for the poor

Go back and read my threads, I've been explaining it for months...
I'll put it into a nutshell.
With no real punitive damages (which you can't enforce because collusion is basically illegal), the benefits of breaking with collusion is typically much better than staying with the pack.

well because our country is in a huge economic crises right now, and our country needs to raise money, and the poor dont have money so we raise the tax on the rich.
ps i have the greatest way for california to get out of debt and give out stimulus, for every illegal immigrant you turn in you get $250, but in order for this we need to completly shut down the borders (and i mean completely shut it down, i dont get why bush didnt he was so afraid of terrorism, but he doesnt even sucure the borders? what a dumby, I would like to see us set up guard towers and anyone crossing will be shot), all those illegal mexicans do is take jobs away from real americans.
