You wont find it at home depot...but you're looking for a diamond coated holesaw bit. you can get them at lots of places online. glassholes. com sells the bits for cheap if you're interested.

I'm glad too see you went with 2 tanks. The others brought up nice points about taking the stand apart.
Depending on how much flow you want to run through your refug, you could just run the drain into the fug and not split it. You will plumb it like the last drawing short of the split drain. You'll drain into the refug, then it will go into your skimmer section and so on. Just a little more easy IMO.
The drill bits are cheap as 2Quils mentioned. They are a diamond tipped hole saw. I paid 13 bucks for my 1 3/8" bit through Glass Holes.
Edit; Oh yea, you wont find the bit at the depot.

Ok, that looks very similar to how I saw it on a youtube video. So I will want a 1 3/8" bit? Why did you use such a small drill?

You will have to get the right size drill bit for whatever size bulkeads you end up using.
I used my dremel to drill mine with rotary bits instead. Only reason I went with those bits is because I plan on drilling more tanks in the future for some of my other aquariums and those bits will alow me to make whatever size holes that I want. It takes a little more time to drill them that way but there is less of a chance of cracking the glass that way.
If you install 3/4" bulkheads I believe you will need a 1 1/2" bit.

Yep...I used 1.5" Sch 80's and I had to make 2 5/8" holes.
I think he'll be fine using standard Sch 40 bulkheads for this application though.

Ok, I'm confused on which bit I will need. I need someone to make an executive decision for me. Let me know which bit I need and I will buy it. Again, I rely on you all right now.

I just don't like thin aquarium bulkheads. Sch 40's will be just fine.
Edit;
Although in this app, I would use an aquarium bulkhead. No problem.

If you use the 1" bulkhead you should need the 45mm (1 3/4") saw. Look at the link 2Quils posted. 15 bucks.

I agree...especially on larger size drains that have to support some of the weight.
Sparty, if I were you...since you're trying to make the most out of the space you have I would get two stantard Sch 40 3/4" bulkheads and one 1 1/2" holesaw bit.

For what you are going to use it for I'd get the Thread x Thread style.
I.E. I would get 2 so that you could have 2 drain lines side by side instead of 1 bigger one. The secone one will act at a back up incase one were to ever get blocked up by a rouge snail or critter or something. It's just safer that way.

Can you give me the dimensions of the glass buffles that I will need again? I'm going to have my friend cut the peices. It looks like I only need 3 were they all going to be 9 inches? Is that the ONLY glass peices I will need?

Yeah that should be all you need. What you want to do is take an acurate measurement in the inside of the tank from one side to the other and get the baffles cut 1/4" shorter then that. So they will be 9" tall x 11 1/2" or something like that.
