GHOSTS!

I have a ouija board. I played with it a lot this summer. The reason I got it is because I know this really weird guy who is training to become a Wicken (sp?) priest. His 'religion' is strongly against these boards. As far as my Parker Brothers witchcraft goes, it's a lot of fun. The consensus among everyone is that it is bogus. It exploits the ideomotor effect but it works great, which is the fun part. Science is cool.

Oh, but if you do believe in this bullshit, I'll tell you exactly how to get rid of it. This coming from a wicken priest mind you.
You need to split it up into seven pieces, sprinkle holy water on it, and bury it.
If you burn it, it will scream. Anyone who hears the screams will die within 36 hours.
My plan was to burn it in front of him and have someone hidden behind the bushes. When he saw it burning, I would have said person scream.
I never followed through with the plan because he got canned before I could.

Holy water is nothing but an act of faith and frankly so is everything else folks believe in outside of scripture. God is kind and acknowledges these acts of faith, but mean he sees as well.
Pez, some things are never meant to be joked with. My brother was a drug addict and his mind was weak and gullible because of it. He thought the devil was after him and he was afraid of the dark. He was a big mean man…he looked like that big guy (Haggred?) in Hairy Potter.
A stunt like you were talking about would have landed him in a straight jacket…after he killed you thinking you were a devil. I’m serious, there are a lot of nuts in the world and scaring them could be dangerous.

my son was about 4 woke up one morning and out of the blue, said "grandma with the red glasses read me a story". He was 3 months old when she passed away. Those kinds of things you can't argue.

My old bathroom had the fan and the light on separate switches. I was in the shower and the lights went off. Dang. They came back on. Yay! Then they went back off. Dang it again. So I continue to shower in the dark when I realized the fan was still running. The power can't be off and the fan still running! I reached out of the shower to the light switch... it was off. I flipped it back on and the lights came back. I lived alone... there was zero chance of someone flipping it off, back on, back off again.
It was a small bathroom and the door opened into the bathroom. One day I try to go into the bathroom and the door only opens a couple of inches. I peek in and see the vanity drawer is pulled out and stopping the door. Weird, but ok whatever. (You can't mistakenly leave the drawer open and leave the bathroom because there wasn't enough room). I stick my hand in the door crack and slowly pull the drawer off it's sliders until it fell on the floor and I could open the door. Of course the drawer was super hard to open and close after that because I had misaligned the tracks. Well, I go to open the bathroom door again at a later date... it's stopped by the drawer. I remember standing there thinking "That is logically impossible".
I had a picture on my living room wall. In order to get it off the wall you had to lift it up to remove it from the fastener. One day I found it off the wall and laid against the wall. The fastener wasn't broken. Weird. Well it happened everyday. I would have heard it if it simply fell off the wall... it always happened when I slept. The fastener would have to be broken as well if it simply fell off the wall. I changed out the picture.
There was a girl murdered in my complex by the mailman or something many years ago. We use to joke that she lived in my apartment. We dug through old newspapers but could not confirm the apartment number she got killed in.
I have a kazillion stories. I don't really say it IS something... I just know some things happen and I have no idea why.

Never seen a ghost...except on Ghost Adventures..that show really draws me in :p
I do have some really strange and hard to explain stories...skip these if you're looking for ghosts.
My mom/dad used to own a shrimp boat here in FL. I'm the youngest kid and so my brothers/sisters had moved out and basically nobody to take care of baby besides mom/dad....so they used to keep me on the shrimp boat while I was really young.
My dad used to let me fish from the docks and do whatever around the docks while he worked on repairing the boat, nets, etc.
Remember those little arm-floaties that kids use for the pool? Those were my parent's way of keeping me safe around the docks...
One day I was walking around the docks and I slipped in the water. I stayed floating thanks to my arm-floaties--but I was floating upside down. I remember seeing everything clearly and being able to breathe under water. I wasn't panicing at all. It felt like I was under there forever and I saw a wrecked ship which I have no memory of ever seeing before that incident. I'm not sure how long I was like that, but my dad finally realized that I wasn't on the dock and pulled me out of the water--he was paniced. He said he heard me thrashing but I don't remember the need to thrash.

There was another time when I remember climbing this huge tree in the yard. It was a really large evergreen and the branches were perfect for climbing.
I remember playing in the yard and then going to that tree and climbing to the top. I got to one branch which snapped under my weight and I remember falling straight down. I remember that as I was falling I was spinning and when I hit the bottom I woke up....I woke up in my mom/dads bed and my dad was laying there and looked at me..he said "are you alright?" I was confused because I never slept in my mom/dads bed.

Recently my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. I went to the hospital during one visit and the doctor came in and talked to me, my mom, and my wife. He asked my mom if she would mind if he spoke to all of us. He told us that my mom had about 2 to 4 months to live. My mom was really broken up because that was the first she had heard of that news. She kept getting worse and they had to drain fluid from her lungs about every week and it was more and more each time.
One of my customers got into a conversation with me about cancer. I told her that my mom had cancer and that they don't give her much longer to live. She told me she'd pray for my mom and to let her know that she would pray for her.
I told my mom that a customer of mine was going to pray for her. I also prayed.
They recently came out with some new cancer treatment and my mom received it. She doesn't tell me exactly how much is left, but she tells me that it's much better and they think they've got it in recession(is that the word?) It's been a while since her "4 months to live" so we're all continuing to pray for the best.

It's remission, and I will also pray for your Mom and your family

like Renee, i'm a very skeptical person, and i've been a scientist (not the religion) for way too many years to "believe" in an all-powerful, all-knowing entity on faith. i do think it's nice that those who do can find comfort in their beliefs and defend their right to do so.
that being said, when i was in Jr. HS (middle school), we had a boxer-shepherd mix who "adopted" our family, and became a pet. this dog ("Duke") was very protective of all of us, to the point that he didn't like us to play rough/wrestle (he'd gently grab us and pull us apart till we stopped). at night, he'd "make the rounds" of the house, walking into each room and making sure everyone was in bed and "accounted for" before finally laying down on the floor at the foot of my folks' bed.
Duke was poisoned by some jerk, and basically died in our arms. one night, my mom and i were up late and we both saw a "shadow" passing thru the house. we looked at each other, but dismissed it. pretty soon we saw it passing thru the hose making "the rounds" and could hear the sound of a dog's nails clicking when it crossed from the carpet to the hardwood. we knew what it was immediately...Duke was still protecting us. this went on for some time, until we were adopted by another dog, "Joe" who was also similarly protective. once Joe came to stay, Duke was able to rest, and never showed up again...
i can't explain it, but there it is, FWIW...

You got another dog when you had a ghost guard dog...wow... sounds like a downgrade to me.
