My tank is full of water now and have had it set up for a month now. I have the white salt lines inside about 3 inches from bottom and around the top of the tank. Any suggestions on how to clean that with out draining the tank?

algae scrubber? the pads on an extended pole thing or the magnets might take care of that..try it and see

wow, old thread.
I started using windex after others reported goo problems with the API stuff i originally suggested. I spray it on the towel far away from the tank and wipe it on only.

just spay the Windex on the towel the use it
I hate Windex because it does streak, but I prefer a spray called Perfect Glass from Lowes....Spray down the towel, and wipe....I think alot of people are super paronoid about these things.....I'm not suggesting spraying right next to the tank, but spray on a cloth.....very little hazard IMHO.....besides don't most of us run carbon? Even running a carbon canister on your air line for your skimmer would reduce the hazard of it possibly being introduced that way as well!!!!!

Newsprint is the definite winner here. Although newspaper leaves ink on your hands (not a big deal but still...) clean newsprint can't be beat for glass cleaning--with or without Windex. You can get it from your local moving/packing store--in quantities that will last several years...
