I too like that Ford hasn't, at this point, taken a gov. bailout and thay may not have to if things work out for them. They seem to have a great mix of new cars coming out and man I would love to get my hands on one of those Taurus SHO cars! More power than the old Yamaha built V8 in the previous gen. SHO and with a 6 speed auto to boot!
I bought a 2009 F150 this year, special ordered XL w/the 4.6 3V and 6 speed auto and man, does that truck drive Sweeeet! The smoothest shifting and driving truck i have ever had.
Gm does have some great cars and trucks, but Ford seems to have the edge on them for now.
Not sure if it's fair to directly compare GM to Ford. Globaly, GM and Toyota sold about 9.3million units in 2007. Ford had sold around 5.6mil. And now, post "poo hit the fan," the economy is of course going to affect the larger company more (Ford and GM have had similar % percentage drops, while obvious the foreign makers have had less).
My problem with Ford, is Lincoln. The MKS and MKZ are good cars, but they're a step back. They're not CTS/G37/3/5-series competitors. They had been headed in the right direction with the LS, but now are back to FWD platform's. And other then the Town Car, which is a relic, solely around for fleet sales, don't offer a V8 powered car.

I hear ya, GM has a real presence in China (go figure) where Buick of all brands is very big, while Ford has basically nothing there. At least Ford seems to have finallly gotten the message that having great Euro spec cars that are not available in NA is not a good business plan and they are finally going to bring the Euro Focus and Fiesta over here, or at least they say they are going to.
At least Ford now has a decent engine for the Lincoln Edge clones, but other than that they are not that different from the Ford versions-typical brand engineering that GM is getting away from with cadillac and the CTS especially the SpecV version.

I noticed that you covered up the factory warning labels.
Good man!
Thanks...its the Bat-Truck! I don't like fords logos. Its my truck, not Ford's. They don't advertise for my business, why should I advertise for them?

Right on!

I belong to a car forum based in Okie-land. The World of Duckus Crapus. It's a bunch of rodders and racers in the area. Ever heard of it?

I love what you did with your truck. My daughter has a red one like this. It's the Lariat Sport Edition. My husband has a F250 4x4 diesel beast, her BF has ther LE Escape, and I got the Fusion. Our driveway looks like a Ford dealership. We purchased 4 vehicles from the same dealership. Got great deals everytime.
My husbands F250 was loaded with leather and everything. Paid only 28K. It sat on the lot for a few months because it was a 6 speed. He loves that damn truck and the 6 speed. It yanks our boat right off the ramp with that granny gear! He calls it "awesomous prime". He is such a weirdo. Lol..

Meowzer, it's one thing to poke a little fun, but to
....that is just too much.

Okies are cool. Check out the DuckusCrapus website. Lots of cool Okies in there.

You mean that's real

Let me tell you something...when I first told my kids we were moving to OK..My second oldest, who would have been 7 at the time asked me if it was close to AFRICA
....Sometimes I have to wonder about that

Where have you been PAL....
Just been busy. I was in the middle of a year long bathroom remodel(I know why did it take so long) Then I get water damage and I have had to remodel the kitchen. Along with the OT at work. Now I still am not done with the kitchen and the bathroom has most certainly been put on hold. Then two weeks ago I got to put in a new motor in my car cause I dropped a cylinder. ARGH.....I am not complaining but c-mon.
But, on the subject....I am still glad that I don't drive a ford daily. However I do own one and the wife drives it. A F-350 long bed crew cab. A maroon one.

I've heard of them from some of my customers that have Street Rods. Not sure what its all about though.
Oklahoma is a great place, I'm from Anaheim, CA originally. I miss the ocean so much, I created one in my livingroom.

I think we'll be going to the ocean today. It's couple miles west of us.
My wife absolutely LOVES the ocean, too. It will be a nice mother's day getaway for her.
