BAHAHA, I have to tell you guys.... my husband and I were in the hotel bar......met a very nice guy....struck up a conversation.....next thing you know he askes us back to his room to go in his jacuzzi

Agree Apex would be the next purchase you should make.....All those daily checks functions, can be checked and turned on and off from your phone or laptop if something would go screwy.....

Very happy to say not only did we enjoy being away.....EVERYTHING did great.....the dogs survived the weekend at the groomers.....Meowzer and Trixy did fine at home....and with the exceptions of a few spots on the glass.....the fish look great
I think I am going to give them a snack tonight.....and feed them in the moring as I would usually

MISSING FISH!!!!
Well apparently I had some sort of casuality....It seems my longfin sleeper goby from the 54G is MIA......I did not see it yesterday when I got home...or last night, BUT figured it would show for breakfast
NOPE
This fish was 6" long, and there are NO signs.....no way it could jump either.....so I guess something happened and the brittle star ate it....who knows

Is it possible it dug under some rock and trapped itself? Just look real hard at the tank as a whole..do the rocks look at all shifted?

Our fish tanks love to punish us when we leave them. Believe me, that is the main reason I have not picked up getting set up again. I travel a lot, and I know a fish tank just won't let me travel in peace.

Yeah....I think I really need to RE-THINK this....LOL.....I may need to downsize a little.....as many tanks as I have it may be really difficult to get sitter help.....

When I hire a sitter for my snakes, its $15 a day. Just change the water and, if they exercise body functions, change out soiled towels for fresh ones.
Its very hard to find someone who can handle exotic animals.

ya I feel ya, 2 snakes, 2 dogs, 5 tanks, and a cat. Sitter required. Luckily we haveone that likes check off lists.

Well I think a weekend is doable right now....BUT......I really want to expand my vacations....LOL.....So I need to start looking hard for a reliable sitter, so I can have them trained IF I ever get to get outta here for more then 2 1/2 days
I really want to go to a tropical island within the next year

I found mine through looking online. She is not a snake person, but was willing to give it a shot. You can also check your LFS to see if anyone is known to them. Even your vet may know people.

There are a couple Oklahoma based forums at the "other place" where you might find someone local. I'd haunt their forums to see who is close by and knows their stuff.
