My husband and I did the canopy tour while we were in Puerto Vallarta a few years ago. It was fabulous! I also highly recommend parasailing. We've been to Cancun and Cozumel also. I must say though nothing compares to Cozumel for diving and snorkeling.
We had a rather bad experience in Puerto. We were there in November 2004 and the jellyfish were migrating. We couldn't go into the water without being stung. I now hate jellyfish! lol We also had problems with our hotel, the Grand Marival. I would not recommend staying there.
I'm sure you'll have a great time! Downtown is very nice and there are lots of tours to choose from. Have fun!
