I think Abe Lincoln once walked like 6 miles in the snow at night because he charged a customer 1 penny over.
I once bought a $150 Lego set for 5 bucks. It was a huge airport set and the lady didn't bat an eye. I guess we of different caliber than old Abe.
Nice find!!

Listen there are so many horror stories out there where the lfs screwed us over its about time I hear where we get one over on them!!!!
Don't worry bout it just make sure you QT it or cure it the right way so no bad stuff happens to your tank

Personally if it was a mom and pop type shop I would say something, or at least call...But thats just me. If it was a big box store then your efforts would be futile.

I think I agree with this statement most.
If it was a place where that money was really going to make a difference (Mom/Pop shop), then yes, I would feel terrible.
If it was a chain store where overcharging their customers is a regular part of thier business, then, I would not feel bad. Maybe this is a bit of karma for them for something they did to someone else.

I agree, mom and pop stores are all hurting right now, and that 50lbs could have really, really, really hurt them badly - enough to even think about closing.
I would go back and pay for it in full and do the right thing. What you did was STEALING.

I would look at it this way. If you go back point out the mistake you will have made a friend in the LFS that will out weigh the money you saved. and you never know when you may need that friend

+1.
Keeping a Saltwater tank running well can be complex enough. Don't end up on the wrong side of Karma.
You should at least offer to pay them cost. They would treat you well for the rest of your addiction to this hobby.

If you go back and pay for it, you will definately make friends with the people there, and they will trust you more. Maybe they will even give you discounts and what not that can add up to more then just $330 in the long run.

Yeah... your a thief. When you knowingly or willfully with the intent to deprive someone of their property or any value of the property take it you are commiting theft. In my state its a felony. I hope they dont have your information. I doubt they would do anything about it but you could be the honest person that this hobby needs and pay them back. You will probably make a friend. As opposed to looking over your shoulder next time your in there. ha ha

Yea, I am going to have say it is knowingly stealing from a business. You intentionally purchased 50lbs of live rock at a set price and you knew the price was going to be $300+, but only paid $6.74.
Unfortunately I do not believe in karma, but have a conscience and do not steal. Best of luck with your rock purchase.

i have to agree with this one man, go back to the store, tell em what happened, an offer to pay for the difference, if they still let it go, then its all good, but at least make the offer, its the right thing to do
but, and im sorry i didnt say this before, ONLY if its a mom/pop store, if its any kind of chain store/large store,

This! The money that would have been made couldve been used to pay employees who have families and bills to pay and such. A little kindness go's a long way.

agreed, we bought liverock at our local chain shop and it turned out one of the pieces was full of xmas tree worms. i saw the sign on the tank with an $85 price tag on it but the kid screwed up and sold it to us at the cost of liverock. after some debate we took it back and now we always seem to freebies whenever we are in.

Oh whatever, you guys are just jealous...
run with it.. lol..
if you get confronted, just be like "oh I just signed the slip, I don't pay much attention to prices in sw.. I don't like to get depressed.. honestly I didn't know she messed up at the counter."
If worse comes to worse just pay the difference.. but for now...
