I just bought 2 Rio 2100 ....about 1200 gph with both of them together ....is this too much for a 55 gallon tank ?

The only reason I ask ...is because the current seems a little strong ...I know your suppose to have lik 10 -20 times the amount of water ...per hour ...but it just seemed really strong.

That sounds fine for an SPS reef. What animals are you planning to keep?

Mushrooms..Zoos ...Maybe some leathers and some xenia not sure on those though.

whats the gph of your filter?, if its alot you might be able to take one of the powerheads back.

It's not too much. And if it is, don't worry one should break with in a few months.
