I contribute time at the local SAMMinistries Shelter every month. Helped push forward the Haven For Hope initiative here in San Antonio, so yes I work with "less than fortunate" individuals alll the time. I've heard their stories first hand, and understand the complications they've had in their lives, some no fault of their own.
Who knows what this guys attitude would be once he literally got back on his feet. The cop had to help him put on the socks and boots because he was too weak to do it himself. Interesting that soon after he got the boots on, the guy got up and disappeared into the night. Will he keep the boots, or will he simply walk down to the local quik stop and barter the boots for a bottl of MD 20/20? Guess we'lll never know. This story was simply an example of someone more fortunate helping out someone who was less fortunate, and showing how human compassion still exists in this country. You're the one throwing your little "damp rag" on the inspirational story, trying to stereotype the typical homeless person, not me. All I did is interject a little sarcasm into your bigoted theories.
