Can green chromis be put with a false percula clownfish in a 29 gallon aquarium and if they can how many is the most I could put in there.

yep. I would not take up all my fish bioload space with a bunch though. I'd only do 1 or 2. Just my opinion.

My original plans were
1 or 2 percula clowns
1 flame angel
1 bi color blenny
10 scarlet hermits
10 blue legged hermits
1 cleaner shrimp
I was thinking about taking the angel out and adding something else anyone else have any good ideas??? I have none of these yet these are just my plans.

search old posts about keeping green chromis in groups, and you'll learn alot about how they interact socially; but 2 would be fine in a 29.

Hey cliffrouse11bas, that actually soundslike a good mix, you may be pushing it with the Chromis though. Unless you get three tiny ones...... it may be pushing your bioload with those other fish you mentioned. I just got 6 for my 180 and they are really cool, they fly around the whole tank together, they eat, play and change colors together. It is a treat to watch......good luck with your decision.

I've toyed with the idea of putting a small school in my reef. I was told by someone I trust that they didnt make it long in captivity. Anyone out there have any conflicting opinions? I would still like to have some, but not if I know they wont last long.

I think the green chromis - if only one or two in a tank are sort of a boring fish to look at. A pale looking damsel - but mild mannered.
On the other hand, a large school swimming over and through the rockwork in a large reef tank - now that's very cool in my opinion. Naturally look to the tank.
Nothing at all against this fish - I just like to see a lot of them at once. Their movement as a group makes up for their single lack of color.

I actually think they have alot of color, mine alway look like a vibrant green or a aqua blue look to them. In the morning or when they scared, only then they look almost a grey color.....

I've owned 6. All have died. Bought from different places and in different sized groups. The word I've received that if you get good ones they last; but, many don't make it for no apparant reason.
I may do them again but it won't be in small numbers.
Good Luck!

IMO they do best in a shoal of 5 or more. My shoal has been in the tank 2.5 years so not a success yet, but not bad.
