Is it true that green hairy mushrooms will sting other corals?

all mushrooms will sting other corals if they are touching them or if they land on them if detached. the thing is, will the other coral sting the mushroom worse, or will your mushrooom sting a nice acro piece...

Green Hairy Mushrooms are one of the few that will sting Aiptasia to death. They don't sting everything though. Just stuff they perceive as a threat.

Thanks Bang Guy, will they bother other mushrooms like red and green ones? What about xenia?

I have them around Xenia with no problem. They do seem to sting Red Mushrooms though. I don't know about Green Mushrooms.

Thanks Bang Guy, they are not even close to each other but I was just curious.
Can I ask a stupid question? What does a coral look like when it has been stung by another one?

LOL sorry... typically it will bleach at the spot it was stung. It won't fully expand in that area and sometimes it may begin to turn to mush.
