Gulf-view & Tampabay Live Rock

dsa_mom and I have gulf view rock. very nice stuff, although we received pieces with several clams, which complicates building and stacking; especially in our high 37 gallon tank, but that's a different problem. other than that, we're both very satisfied with the rock, and we'd recommend it.

Maybe I didnt explain it clearly...I know that Fiji rock is
different from the others....LOL
What I meant was....that I ordered LR from SWF.COM
and the cardboard box that it came in had an
advertisement that said.... ww.ws####.### on the
outside of the box but the FedEx sticker was from SWF.COM
(in Florida)... it came directly from SWF.com....
so I just thought that WS and SWF.com were one in the same...
but obviously they are not....

np, actually just to clarify for you and others, swf.com is a RESELLER for walt smith(probably the worlds largest LR importer)
they buy fiji form walt smith who exports it to america adn then they resell it to their customers.
They are not a wholesaler but an IMPORTER, or EXPORTER, depending on the angle you are looking at it from. They, I believe, are the only ones legally able to get it from fiji and maybe even some other islands.

I ordered 50 lbs of Fla rock, and it was FULL of life. Tiny crabs, brittle stars, worms, and yes, even 2 mantis shrimp. Not as much coraline growth as the Fiji, but I`d do Fla again.

MARINEROCK-
I think your a little bit confused....Walt Smith doesn't advertise on SWF.com live rock box's....SWF.com simply re-uses the box's that they recieve their live rock shipments in, most likely anyway.

Hey Azonic...
That could very well be....
Have you bought LR from here ? if yes, what kind
of box was your rock shipped in ? styrofoam or cardboard
Fshhub....thanks for clarifying that....

MARINEROCK-
Unfortunately, I can't order rock from here because I live in Canada. :-( Hopfully one day they will be allowed to ship here.
I have however ordered live rock from an online store in british columbia and on one occassion I got my marshall island rock in a walt smith box, and then I got my tonga rock in a TDP Transshipping box....so I think they just use whatever box's they have from their incoming shipments...I bet it cuts down on costs a lot for strictly mail-order companies.
Maybe that's why SWF.com doesn't have any box charges with orders? Makes sense to me anyway.
