- use RO/DI water
- water changes
- stop over feeding
- try and find out if you have any phosphates, then get them at zero
- beef up your clean up crew
- lower your photo period
there may be a few other things, but thats the main things.

Exactly as teen says. Add to this list, pick out as much hair as you can and increase your flow.
i bought a phos ban reactor adn that thing works great i hate hair algae like crazy and it keeps it away. I did have to pick it all off and get rid of most of it and then use the reactor but i have not had any come back.

chaeto or somthing of that nature should use up the nutrients that the hair algae is using to grow, but its best to find out what is adding to the excess nutrients first.
My bulbsare about 4 months old, and i think 5 hours of light is a little bit for my corals, i got zoos, toadstool, torch, and metallic green torch and some sponges and a anemone. Dos anyone have chaeto algae?
get some emerald crabs. they love hair algae. also i recently took care of my hair algae problem. i bought a remora protien skimmer. gets all the spores out before they can plant on glass, rock etc. also cut down on lights, do 5hrs instead of 8 for example
