Sexy shrimp probably will not work with a sixline however. They would most likely be a delicacy that he would only get to eat once.
With most wrasses small shrimp become lunch.

yeah, but I already decided against a six line and a mandarin (even though I want them so bad) Do you think that a 14g could support a mandarin?
Do sexy shrimp require any special type of feeding like the harlequin shrimp do>?

No, a mandarin needs a large tank. Usually 75 gallons +, you want at least a 100 pounds of live rock. The only thing they eat are pods which live on the rocks. They 99% of the time will not eat prepared foods. Mandarins and nanos just don't go together.

I've seen them in alot of smaller tanks. I dont think it needs to be that big, but I understand that they do eat a lot of pods. Idk, maybe one day then :(

Yep, I knew I was going to have to wait at least a year for all the pods to develop and flourish enough to keep him alive.

Just because you have seen them in a lot of tanks does not mean that they are doing well. There are rare occasions when they can thrive in a nano, however in my opinion having to buy pods at least once every week is a lot of money to be spending on one fish. Most people get mandarins without researching them beforehand, and eventually they starve to death. Rebel was thinking of getting one as he mentioned but he also had plans to transfer it into a larger tank. Rebel also has a very establised tank. Do some research on mandarin dragonettes and you will see there very specific requirements. They simply do not have very good survival rates in nano tanks.

that stinks. well maybe one day, after my tank is super established, i might be one of those people that has one doing good in a nano. Not this tank but when i get my 14g biocube. whatever though.

lol trust me when you get the 14 you will wish you got the 29. I have the 14 and I wish I had more room for stuff. If you have the moeny get the biggest tank you can. However after awhile you will wish you had an even larger tank! Good start by the way, I noticed you had a pepermint shrimp in there already. Has your tank cycled yet or did you get yout lr and ls from a previous tank?

It WAS a purple lobster that came with my lr... he died though :(
i got my lr and ls from a previous 29 biocube we found on craigslist...
