Happy NFL Day!!!

Here we go again in DC-another season of high expectations, dashed by a team that just doesn't try hard, seems to have a severe lack of motivation, and an owner (Little Dan) who throws money at them, but never seems to get what he is paying for! Sigh

I am now a fan of the Patriots 'cause my mom lives in Mass and that's a good enought reason to root for them. Never thought an 84 year old woman would become a football fan, but there ya go! Plus, they are a good team
. Hope Brady gets back soon!
One thing about the NFL- this is what Hi-Def TV was made for! How can anybody watch a game on a "regular" low def TV?

my Panthers looked nice, even without their best playmaker, beat the best team in the AFC at home.

hah, have fun everyone. I don't necessarily like football. I was never the sports type, neither was my family.
But! I hope everyone has fun this season! Good luck!!!

Good week. KJR and sickboy have some 'splainin to do about their 'hawks....
Kirk, BTW, what size hat you do wear? Just checking to see if that sized Cardinals hat is in stock online....

With Brady out, the Bills have a very legitimate shot at the AFC East title. And based on other AFC team performances, the Bills may be the best team in the AFC right down, the Steelers are perhaps a bit ahead. Real test next week against J-ville.

Especially after the Bears Schooled the Colts at the dome last night. Looks like they FINALLY FOUND THEIR Quarterback and he has been riding the freaking bench for years this is the same guy that led them to a 11-5 record as a rookie when GROOSY GROOSMAN Blew his knee out on a slip in the shower. Man I bet the Offensive Coordinatoers are kicking themselves for not sticking with him now.

Thank god somebody caught that. We'll see though, my proclaimation is Steelers/Bills in the AFC championship. Chargers are looking to bust at the seams with everyone's ego out there, or literally have the wheels come off with everyone's injuries. We'll see Denver tonight, and next week if the Colts can get it back together. Though the Jets,
go check the previous couple of games of Bills vs. Jets. The Bills were a bad team then, and their loads better now. I don't think a gun slinger will be the Jets saving grace...

I agree with Aquaknight. I think with Brady out, the Bills have a legitimate shot in the AFC. they have the most improved D in the whole NFL, they have a very good WR (Evans) and a very underrated RB (Lynch). the QB is the only weak point.

He will be more than a gun slinger(a very good one at that). He is confidence for a team that had none. No one had an ounce of confidence in pennington. A QB like farve boosts everyone confidence level which makes the team play better as a whole.
An O Lineman is not going to risk getting hurt and losing $ for a QB that isnt going to win games, but they will for the Superman Favre. Just wait till that team plays a few games together they will only get better. They won with out a kicker. For what ever reason i am excited about the Jets.

so if the QB is the only Que then i guess you should throw NE right back up to the top... they have 3 solid RBs two of the best WRs in the game... and a solid D... and a newbie at QB that has been a back up to two Heismen trophy winners and a 3 time Super Bowl champ and MVP of both the league and th Super Bowl...

I'm not saying that Buffalo is no good, but lets take a realistic look at what you did....You beat a Seattle team, that yes has been in the playoffs the last 5 years including a trip to the Superbowl, but in those 5 years they have had a losing record on the road and are virtually unbeatable at home....Buffalo beat a Seattle team with their 2 best current WR's out (Branch and Ingram), and lost 1 (Hackett) to free agency (i.e. Nate Burleson whom also got hurt was their 4th receiver last year, #1 option yesterday), and 2 important Defensive starters suspended.
A good win for Buffalo, but still a lot to prove.

So....I think this is interesting....CNBC broke away from their financial news to go to "Breaking News" of Belichick (sp?) giving a press release about Brady being out for the season. Why would CNBC be reporting on this, isn't that odd?

Well, yeah i suppose. It was just weird. They go from talking about the government take-over of fanny and freddy, to Tom Brady. It made me laugh...

okay ... here's my prediction.
B.F. will lead the jets to the superbowl, get his ring and really retire.

I didn't say they were Owens and Moss, but they're not Courtney Taylor and Logan Paine either (the dorks that replaced them and dropped everything thrown at them)....FYI, Engrams Stats last year 94 receptions 1,147 yard (uh, yeah, that's pretty easily top 50, opps I mean top 20), not too shabby there, Dion Branch has a Superbowl MVP, they don't just hand those out to anybody.

i beg to differ... they do hand em to just anyone that has A good game... look at Larry Brown, Dexter Jackson and Desmon Howard... branch has been riddled with injury... Engram got alot more playing time last year because Branch was hurt for most of the year so of course his stats are gonna go up...
