HOLY SMOKES this is old, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Oh wait, just a few years later its still about the same
Now its a group of same boys sitting at my table with 4 huge pizzas and sodas eating, yapping, and talking about girls and taking said boys to go roller blading. Waking up to go to a racquetball match for daughter and soccer game in afternoon for son. Saturday night will consist of waiting up for daughter to make sure she makes curfew.............bet you all wish you were me!

OH btw.....took some midwest pork ribs with us to Florida and bbq'd them. Had about 40 people swarming around us with mouthes watering. Repeat in a few weeks for sons bday. Ribs, potato casserole....sound familiar???

No marinating...kills the natural flavoring. To prevent it from being chewy baste it with guiness.
Or...drink enough guiness and you don't even notice the chewy parts. lol

It's nearly impossible to find good BBQ out here. There is a place up north called Lucilles that is pretty good, though. I think there are a few of them scattered around. Most people out here would die if they had real midwest BBQ.

This should be considered a sin........
good bbq and meat should be available everywhere. We actually bring our own "midwest steaks/ribs " 1200 miles under dry ice for our vacation. Next time you are with your midwest families, buy some meat and seek out some dry ice. Its worth it.
Even our Canadian friends who join us on the beach were chomping at the bit for our 3 racks of ribs.
