has anyone ever been insulted for being obssesed with fish?

No, but most folks border on being insulting when they find out I have snakes. You would think that I said I keep roaches and ticks or something. Its amazing how scared and revolted people are by this reptile. Anyway, don't want to hijack the topic.

Most of our friends are obsessed with our tank. They run right to it when they walk in the house.

On this site, having a 125 gallon and a 90 gallon is no big thing. Off this site, everyone thinks I had some closet dream of becoming a fish.
I have a dog, the fish, and a python. People just call my place a zoo no matter what.

One of the greatest things about being an adult is people normally dont make fun of your obsessions
All of my friends and family do the same thing - run to the tank to look at the fish - and they love watching the lion fish eat! My father now prowls fish stores for me to see what the new livestock is - so some obsessions while funded by one is enjoyed by all
I personally would so much rather have school age kids talk about tanks and something like that then to deal with listening to some talk about some of the other obsessions (video games dont bother me so much)

i don't get made fun of for being obsessed with fish, but my hubby makes a whole lot of fun of me for visiting these forums... i don't understand why...

OMG! SAME HERE!!! Same exact reason....well some dont make fun of me....they think i'm cool (thats just the girls!). The video game geeks think its sooooooooooo retarded to keep fish, then i tell them what fish i have...

I dont really talk about my tank at all except to people who have em. Mainly because only the people who have them have an idea what you are talkin about. All my friends think its cool but i can tell they arent as interested as me.

I think everyone who has a saltwater tank is a dork ha ha! seriously we all are obsessed. But its not like a i stay home on weekends and watch my fish. I just like workin on my tank when im bored. If it wasnt for my tank i would watch alot more tv which is just being lazy.
