HELP Algea Problem

They can only eat algae. Once the algae is gone I'd suggest passing them on the the next hobbiest with a bad hair day. I believe they only live about a year.

Hey Bang Guy
if the nutrients are coming from inside the rocks, how do you combat this? We would like to solve the problem instead of just getting some critters to eat the algea! We are dripping kalawasser. Is there anything else we could do?

I've never heard a serious case for Sea Hares wiping a tank.
For the rocks, the nutrients will eventually deplete. It could be a month it could be a couple of years. The best way IMO is to buy good rock and treat it well.

So if a sea hare DOES manage to release these toxins, what should you do? I really might look into having my lfs order one. Cant stand hair algae.
Also, if u have hair algae growing from the back glass, that rules out nutrients from the rocks correct?

What toxins? They do ink when disturbed. I don't believe it's toxic.
