I'm confused... I know the OP said he did mean .5, but isn't 5 nitrates not that bad. I know the goal is 0, especially in reef, but am I missing something???
Am I mixing up nitrates and nitrites or something??
I never heard of trates being measured w/ decimals. I'm lost.
OMG I just went and pulled out my card...and you are right...sorry

Will it really kill everything in my tank if it dies?
Just watch it...and if it starts turning mushy...get it out..you will know right away by the SMELL....there no smell worsethan a dying anemone

watts from pc lights arnt the same as watts from t-5 or mh. from the way i understand it lumms are more inportant than watts. it is over my head but the way i see it that 100 watts from t-5 or mh penitrate deeper and stronger than pc. there are really indepth articles about this if you use google.
i kept a gbt under 96w for 3 month when my tank was 2 month old and it is doing great. i now have 250mh and 96w t-5 and in 2 days i can tell a difference. maybe 3 months isnt that long but it did good. all so i have read about silversides being difficult for them to digest. i feed my frozen shrimp not sure if thats any better.

That is correct about lighting....Long term you will not have sucess with a nem under PC's.....It's likely moving to try and find more light. I would guess that it will continue moving around your tank to try and find better light, but it never will. Eventually it will die.
