I am cleaning out my garage and I cant seem to throw any FREAKING THING AWAY!
Well somethings I can but most, NO!
I thought I would make ALOT of space but it doesnt seem to be getting smaller.
I have tons of empty boxes, most are the originals in which that particular product came in. Then I have tons of full boxes with papers and OLD MAGAZINES.. is there an article I missed? Or do I need info on a first generation IPOD from 2002? lol
Broken Vacum Cleaners, well maybe I can fix that.. 2 of them?
Broken Air Purifier, well maybe I can fix that someday?
Speaking of shoes... Ton of old shoes,, well maybe I can wax them and the will come into fashion again.
Old CLothes, ALOT all types,, maybe I will loose 20lbs and fit into them again or Miami Vice Pastel jackets will come into fashion again.. lol

omg....start now getting rid of it. It took me 2 years to clean out my grandmas house. (attic to basement......2 car garage with extra room for storage, and 2 out building that she used when she owned her business)
All stuffed to the rafters with STUFF. You name it she had it. After many sales we still filled : 2-40yard , 3-30 yard and 1-20 yard dumpsters. Not to mention the tons of stuff we put on the side of the rode with "free" signs on them.
Everytime someone calls my house for a donation pickup, I find SOMETHING, andything. I will not let that happen to me. I watched it consume my grandma to a point that she refused to let us help her get rid of it.

I am terrible about not throwing stuff out. My wife says I'm a pack rat...Well as soon as I throw something out, she'll go where's your (whatever she was looking for at the time)at? But anyways here's what I do otherwise I wouldn't ever be able to get rid of anything.

What you need to do is just start going through it. Make an immediate and instant decision toss or keep. The rule is, when you decide too toss, you cant change your mind. You have to tell yourself your going to throw some "good" stuff away and just be OK with it. Then when it comes time don't be conservative, try to throw out as much stuff as you possibly can. One good rule is if it hasn't been used in the last year toss it. Another is if it isn't fully functional toss it. And of it doesn't fit, toss it. Go through it all as quickly as you can.

My husband is the same way. I'm the complete opposite because I cannot stand clutter. Every so often I arm him with 2 big boxes - one for trash and one for good will....if its broken, expired, too old to get parts for, hasn't been used in a year, doesn't fit or was a ridiculous purchase that has been homed in the garage since day one it's gone. Good luck on the garage

+1
it is the only way!!
As for old cloths coming back in style...The style always changes just a bit. So get rid of them. If it is worth money...put it on e-bay or something.
Good luck! I am an X hoarder, I still keep boxes, just break them down.
