help! need advice!

im not that smart.
ok this sounds strange. i was cutting the soles off some shoes. dont sak. and i sorta jammed a razor blade through my finger. it actually came out the other side.
well i pulled it out and washed it and put neosporin and a band aid on it and took ibuporfin but its really bleeding and hurts like a mother what should i do?? it didnt hurt so much at the time but now its like really bad.
i obviously dont want it to get infected or anything, and should i like wrap it up tighter?
um, obviously not telling the parents about this amazingly smart moment. so um... thanks.

if its a big enough cut u probly need stitches - have fun trying to get that without the parents knowing.

its like one of those triangle shaped xactos, the cut where it went in is like half an inch. is that big enough to need stitches???

deffinatly go to the doctor. especially becuase it was a dirty knife and went allt he way through wrapping it tighter could stop the bleeding but if to tight can cut off circulation which is another bad thing all together. it will need to be iraggated and watched carefully. you will probably also need a tentise booster shot.
go to the doctor!!!
word of caution everyone if you have to come to a board and ask about anything medical then you probably need to go to the doctor and let someone trained to tell you whats what look at you!

ugh, i called my mom. she said to clean it up as best i could and wrap it up. she said shed look at it when she got home and if its really bad or gets worse or whatever shell take me to the hospital. but for now she said youve had rusty nails jammed through your feet, your probably ok.

oh yeah and im a moron.

thanks everyone yeah i ended up telling my mom and ill probably end up at the hospital.
ive been hurt worse (living on a farm) but i guess you can never be too safe.

Superglue works wonders on sealing up cuts!
Although for a cut that went all the way through your finger, I'd recommend seeing a doctor. Not that I'd be worried about tetanus (the shots last about 7 years), but you could have done some nerve damage.

You mentioned growing up on a farm, what kind and where....I grew up on a farm in the backwoods of Alabama, had a childhood that few if any people can imagine

it works but ull get a bigger scar than if u go to the doctor

For a large cut, yes, but for a mild cut it helps hold the skin together and heals faster than using a bandaid. Although, it does sting.

go to the hospital or walk in clinic. they will flush it out and suture. a cut that goes from side to side (which im asuming u went in left to right or vs versa, not up and down) and exits on both sides means you have 2 portals of entry for bacteria, viruses and fungi. even if you just wrap it up your still at risk for infection. let the professionals take care of it now so they dont have to really fix up what ya messed up later on

much better today. bruised but stopped bleeding. still hurts when i bend it and bleeds when i really mess with it but not too bad. my mom and i cleaned it up with hydrogen peroxide and some stuff that burned and put all kinds of antibiotic crap on it and wrapped it up. she works at a hospital so i trust her opinion that its not too big of a deal. and i just got a tetanus booster a few months ago.

i dont have a camera, or i could post a gross picture, but its kinda like this:
turn your left hand so its palm up. on the index finger, look at the rectangle of skin between the top and middle joint. the razor went in on the left side (vertically, like, from the tip of my finger down.) kind of on a slant. the deepest part is pretty much the middle of my finger, and the swallowest part is about 1/4th of the way in, and the "entrance wound" is about half an inch long. it came out on the left. not all the way, but the length of the tip sticking out what about the length of a sharpened pencil lead.
yeahh. grody! i bet it leaves a cool scar though...

just a little family farm outside of akron, ohio. on 12 acres we have 4 horses, 30+ chickens (for eggs, we are vegetarians so we dont eat the birds.) 17 muscovie ducks that arent ours... they just appeared and they breed like CRAZY! 2 goats, 9 barn cats, 3 dogs, 1 red tail boa, fish, lizards, a parakeet, and my brothers mouse. my mom also has a koi pond. we also have a big garden when we grow most of our food. everything is done organically.
asides from the plants and animals, there are always at least 5+ extra kids at our house, between all the dirtbikes, atvs, skateboards, horses, the pool, the trampoline, and my parties theres something to keep everyone entertained.
hah... we sound like a bunch of rednecks.
were not really. my parents are buddhists... the kind that hate government and play heavy metal all day.
