i was looking up tek elite and still havent found a 72'' fixture maybe point in the direction without getting in trouble? and i dont have to absolutley have t5's if i can find a mh fixture that would do better than the t5's i will go with that even if i have to spend a lil more $ not a whole lot more though lol! and dimensions are 72x19x19 outside tank not sure inside
According to a tank calculator...LOL...(GOOGLE) that makes it a 100G tank

LOL...and my tank is a 220G...not a 225G

Yeah...the manufacturers like to lie to us to sell up their tanks. I've looked up the dimensions on my tank and one site says it's a 125G, and another says 120g...but when I put the dimensions into the calculater I think it's more like 113G. I think the manufacturers just like to round things up to make it sound better.

you dont need to have a 72" fixture. the ati 60" t5's are super strong and have great spread as 2quills said. im not a fan of mh fixtures because they contain the heat within the fixture. getting seperate pendants and ballast are the way to go. you get to choose the better components for a better price in the end. how would you mount mh reflectors? canopy? light rack?

I don't think you'll find the TEK or ATI in a 72" fixture...the largest is 60" and 60 really is all you need. A 72" will just spill a little extra light over the ends is all. You'll have to mount them to hang from the ceiling. Unless you can find some legs for them.

That's disturbing...we calculate everything by the size of our tanks, including the livestock. So what size is a 90g 48 x 18 x 25 really? Then add 75 pounds of live rock...

Honestly, there is no point in ditching the PRO to buy an ATI fixture. Without a doubt the ATI is a much better fixture, but your tank isn't that deep. With better bulbs you should be ok keeping anything, but try to keep more light-demanding stuff in the upper 2/3 of the tank.

even with better bulbs the nova extreme can only give 300-500 par in the upper 8". after that it starts getting into the 200 range and pretty much gives you less options with your aquascaping and placement of your corals. the pro is around 580 and a 60" ati sunpower is 620. you'd want better bulbs for the pro and end up spending 300 for more bulbs. you can get the 6x80w sunpower from reefgeek for 730 with new quality bulbs. it doesnt make any sense and getting the less quality fixture for a greater price. the 60" ati will give you awesome coverage. plus at 19" youll be over 300 par on the sand bed whereas youll be dipping below 100 with a NEP

so one last question ati 60'', tek 60'', or 2-lumenarc 3 pendants? which one will do the best i think they're all about the same priceeither one i will have to wait til the 21st to get
but i would rather spend the money now than regret down the road

I had it made by a local welder. cost 65$, maybe you can find someone to weld you one.
as for your previous question, it comes down to what you prefer. t5's will give off less heat, and you have a number of bulbs to choose from. mh gives more heat, but also creates shimmer and i personally love Radium bulbs, especially on the right ballasts.

whats the difference between the sunpower ati and the power module ati? besides $200, is it worth it? Because i cant find hardly anything on the tek elites or the lumenarc 3. the tek elites i cant find any bigger than 48''. and i only found one site with the lumens.

I asked the same question, so here's part of an email I got back from the guys over at reefgeek...

"As for comparing the ATI fixtures, the SunPower is obviously the more “economical” of the 2 fixtures. Both the SunPower and the Powermodule feature parabolic Miro-Silver reflectors, identical programmed-start electronic ballasts and an active cooling system. The biggest difference is the housing with the SunPower coming in a more economical bent aluminum housing versus a curved, heavy-duty housing for the Powermodule. The SunPower also has one less fan. Performance wise the SunPower is almost (within 5%), but not quite as good as the Powermodule.

Hope that helps. If you have any additional questions, just let me know. We are here to help!"
