Help with Cheato Algae!!!

I'm lookin for some help with ridding this stuff of snails and bristleworms before adding it to my tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just purchased 2 bags of cheatomorphe algae from my lfs for $12. I'm going to replace the bioballs in my refugium with it. But I switched to a bare bottom tank a while back just to get rid of bristleworms. The lady at the lfs thankfully pulled most of the bristleworms out. But there are still some bristleworms, and I'm sure some eggs. So does anyone know a way to kill the hitch hikers without killing the algae? I'd rather just give it away and waste $12 than add bristleworms to my tank.

Leave the bristle worms. They are a beneficial part of your cleanup crew. As long as you dont overfeed, their population will stay in a beneficial range. Also, they are in your fuge not the display.
I would add it as is and be glad for the extra hitchhikers

I would leave the bristles as well, I have a million in my fuge and none seem to make it into the display,, UNDERCONTROL, benficial waste and detrius eaters..

I certainly appreciate the responses, and I don't disagree that they would be beneficial. But I really just don't want any in my tank. I won't be so picky with my 125 when I set it up, and the fuge will go on the 125 eventually. So maybe I should just wait? Can I keep the cheato alive for a month or 2 in a styrofoam container or should I just give it away?

It will not survive in a styrofoam container for that amount of time, it need light, flow and nutrients to grow,, give it away and when you need some the next time, make sure its ready to put in the tank right away, DONT WORRY about, pods, bristles or mini-brittle stars, some people PAY ALOT of money for these things lol

Yeah I know... I just had a really bad experience with bristleworms. I might add it anyways if someone can't offer me a way to "cleanse" it by tomorrow morning. Thanks for the fast replies! :)

There is no way to cleanse it. If you have live rocks I'm willing to bet your gonna get a few.
