Help with id

What's the white ball looking thing. It's a 55 gal tank 3 1/2 weeks into cycle. Sorry about the pic quality. Here is another pic of a similar item in the tank also.

Sponges....filter feeders..they are fine...they will come and go

I got the same sponges in my tank. I had one, then I had 3, now I have more than I care to count.

I have some too. They are harmless. Here are some pictures of the one's I have one rock.

They are call scypha sponge. If you don't want them. Just turn the rock over and the light will kill it off. But, again they are harmless and will benefit the tank.

they aren't light feeding sponges, so turning the rock over is not going to kill them.

Why kill them? Enjoy the diversity while they last.

Q-tip songes I have them growing in my skimmer harmless filterfeeders leave them alone unless you dont like them in that case just remove them. There not going to run and hide lol they might bite you though so be sure to ware steel mesh gloves lol
